Welcome to a new story!
I wanted to try my hand at something new. This is a dark, fairytale retelling and I'm hoping to continue it as a series. (Let's see how much interest this really generates). This story is about Adrienne, a woman who had been through much and her relationship to Zayne who is equally as damaged. In essence, he is no prince charming. He's a darker hero.
There have been a number of Cinderella retellings in folklore throughout the centuries and most are actually darker and more disturbing than our current, modern understanding of the story. I'm drawing on the past retellings and fashioning it into this story.
So, obviously I want to advise a warning. Please note, this is one of my darker stories yet. Some trigger warnings: abuse, violence, sexual content, bullying and blood, so please approach cautiously. I wanted to experiment how dark I can go.
The story is told in dual point of view.
