I waited to feel his teeth sink into the flesh of my neck, effectively ending me,

But it never came. I opened my eyes and saw him trembling, his teeth still grazing my neck, then without warning, he took a few steps back and looked at me with a tormented look. His eyes were feverish, "you. are. the... devil." I flinched I was still too shocked to say anything. Major looked into my eyes and growled, "You're supposed to have this effect on him, not me!" I tipped my head to the side, and finally studdered out an "h-huh?" Major balled his fist up and glared at me,

if looks could kill I'd be dead.

My muscles relaxed some, I didn't realize they were tense. " E-effect?" I barely breathed out, Major made a strangled sound, a sad sound. "He 'loves' you! He can't live without you..." I slowly take a few steps towards him "What?" Major looked at me like a cornered animal "You don't understand Maria! She- she loves you! She Loves Me! You just don't understand!" Major's voice was panicked and taut. I moved forward until I was close enough to touch him, I placed my hand on his shoulder, very hesitantly.

"No, she doesn't Major." I whisper there was pain, raw in my voice, "Major-" I paused "Maria doesn't care about you... or me." Major looked at me with the same crazed, sad look "No,No.No. you're wrong!" I gripped both of his shoulders, and shook him once, hard "MAJOR! NO, SHE DOESN'T!" I yelled. Taking in a deep breath, I looked into his eyes

He could kill me, right now if he wanted to. He could hurt me. but I don't care. He needs this help as much as I do.

His eyes were a mirror to my own, Pitch black. I pulled him into a hug without thinking about it he could've ripped the life from my body at that moment but, he didn't instead of pushing me away or saying something snide he collapsed in dry sobs, It sucks sometimes, not being able to cry. Holding onto me as if I were a life preserver head buried in the crook of my neck, I kept my arms wrapped around his silently shaking frame, slightly shocked. The change in his moods was enough to make my head spin.' he's just as broken as I am... she's harmed us both.' I frown slightly at the thought. Major's large hands suddenly cupped my face, snapping me out of my thoughts, I looked down at him. His eyes told of the demons of his past. Major said two words, as he looked into my eyes "I'm sorry" I nodded dumbly and ran my hands around some of the scars that decorated his forearms "it's alright... Shes messed us both up. We're not the best people when it comes to dealing with emotions" I mumbled. Major let me go only to grasp my hands in his, "I don't hate you... but I don't know what I feel for you." he said with a frustrated sigh, letting my hands go, and running a hand through his hair. "All I know is that I would fight for you because I know you would fight for me." He says looking into my eyes

Strange, strong, Feelings swirled around inside me, I stared at him, flinching slightly when he wrapped his arms around me, he was holding me his large arms, protectively encircling me.
