10 - Danger everywhere

"If you don't wish to see the end, you and your smartass boyfriend should quit"

I jolted awake as I could still hear the voice echoing in my head, I still didn't tell Hoseok about the call, He had so much to worry about already, I didn't want to overstress him, I lay down staring at the white ceiling

What have I gotten myself into? What more will we have to deal with? What if something happens to him? Should I just let go? What If this fight makes me lose everything? Several thoughts rush through my mind, the silent atmosphere trying to choke me, making me breathless, a lump forming in my throat, my body slightly shivering, I could feel myself freezing

I let out a deep sigh and got up from the bed slowly pacing towards his room, he didn't notice me entering the room as he was focused on the call, I sit on his bed waiting for the call to end

"Oh! Sohee-ah, what are you doing here? I thought you slept" he asked while moving closer to me "Hobi.." he gaze turn towards me, waiting for me to continue my sentence "I-I should've told you this earlier, I'm sorry" "What is it?" he was getting worried "I got a call from an unknown number, I think it's the same person, he threatened me to quit or else he'd do much worse" he squeezed my hands tight to make me feel safe and protected

"Sohee we can't just quit, we must do something" "But I don't wanna risk our lives for it, we should just give up and continue our lives peacefully, I don't want the company, please! Let's stop this dangerous fight" I speak desperately in an attempt to make him listen to me

"Andwae! We can't, I'm pretty sure your aunt is behind all this and she must pay for all that she's done, I.. I promised to make your life better and that is my only job, to make you happy, to help you lead a normal life by making all your problems vanish, just.. just let me do it" Sometimes I feel like he doesn't even care about himself, all the things he does is for me, for my happiness, It's strange

"Fine but promise me you won't put yourself in danger" I demanded "Yes, now the person called you right so we might be able to track his number" he pauses "But your aunt wouldn't directly do such a thing, she must've made someone do it, If we get a hold of that person we might be able to collect some proof" I simply nod my head "I'll get the police to track the number tomorrow, for now let's go sleep"

He leads me to the bed and lies down besides me, we end up sleeping in each other's warmth

*MORNING*

I was hesitant to get ready as the thought of the place scared me but still Hoseok forced me

He drove us to the office, as soon as I arrived the manager rushed into the room "Ma'am, the employees are on a strike, they said they won't get to work until their needs are satisfied" "Please ask them to gather in the meeting room, we'll discuss and find a solution" the manager nodded and rushed to the employees "You should not let them down, baby" I nod and smile at him

The meeting was held and Hoseok made sure to note down all their needs, I caught a similar face among the crowd staring at me, it was.. Kang Yuna, my cousin..

After the meeting was over Hoseok and I were heading to our room "Sohee-ah, how are you?" she speaks in a sweet sophisticated voice, I turn around to face the person "Oh unnie, I'm alright" "Yeah, Hoseok-ah I heard about your father's death, Do convey my condolences, I miss him too" he just nods at her words

"Then I'll leave, take care of yourselves" she taps my shoulder and leaves, "She seems nice unlike her mother" Hoseok remarks as we enter our room "Even my aunt was nice, her greed for money changed her" I sigh "I can't trust anyone other than you and Jiminie oppa" "Oh, about Jimin, are you sure you can trust him?" he asks in suspicion, Hoseok and Jimin oppa had only met each other a few times "Yes, I literally grew up with him" I spoke confidently

We reached the office and Hoseok left to go to the police station, to be honest it nerve wrecking to be alone but I've got to prove them that I'm worth it, I can't lose this company, just seeing Hoseok struggling make things right, makes me wanna keep trying
