on the fourteenth of february
or valentine's day to couples
you invited her to the same park

it became your hangout
almost like your special place
even when it was raining
you sat underneath the slide

the soft pitter-patter of the raindrops
hitting the plastic slide
calmed both of you

on this particular day
it was raining
so you sat underneath the slide
and waited

she was late
and you almost left
until you heard footsteps behind you

before you could turn around
your eyes were covered
by soft delicate hands
and she said "guess who"

you smiled, do you remember?
then you spun around
and saw her slender lips smiling too

you couldn't resist
the golden opportunity
and you engulfed her fragile body
with your own

she was taken aback at first
but then stood up on her tiptoes
to hug you back

your skinny arms lifted her
small thin figure up like she
was your bride; your one
true love, right david?

you finally set her down
on the silvery roundabout
making it spin slowly

the rain was a light drizzle
that seeped through your
clothes almost instantly
making you both shiver

but you didn't get up
or even attempt to leave
because you were happy

and so was she

to you, the hug was nice
but it held no real meaning
other than to be nice to your
friend on valentines day

but to her, it erupted into a downwards
spiral of feelings and emotions that spun
out of control every time she thought of
you, the one and only, david de gea.
