~ July 30, 1983 ~

Following the guys out the bus I take a hard look at my surroundings and just know this is gunna be a long 3 days

"N/n you forgot something" groaning I turn and see it's my hat and lightly laugh "there look like your old self now"

"Oh ha ha, thanks Cliff"

"Not still mad bout that Dave thing are you ?"

Mad ? I'm pissed, I'm through the roof. If the devil looked inside my soul he'd be scared what he sees but what comes out is...

"No you guys had to do what was necessary, although I don't agree with the method of how you guys did it"

"I'm sorry y/n, I know how much of a friend he was to you and how close you guys were getting but it was just too much for us" he sadly says

The only genuine one out the group and he still feels like it was too much to handle. I mean I get it they all did drink excessively but c'mon throw a man off mid tour and just continue on like he was so easily replaceable. That's just crazy

"I know it's okay, I'm gunna go use the phone to call home and tell them I made it"

Walking into the payphone booth I think back to all the places he could be right now this hour. It's probably close to noon so means he's likely still home binge drinking. As I wait for him to answer, if I've learned anything from Dave he hardly ever picks up on the first try and I usually call back

"Hello ?" that doesn't sound good, sounds like shit

"Is this a bad time, 'cause I can call in a few hours or tomorrow your choice"

"Y/n ? Fuck I'm sorry no now is a good time I needed to hear your voice today. How's the touring going ?" quickly clearing his throat

"It's honestly not the same without you, but it's okay. How's everything there ?"

"David and I are still searching for a drummer, you know n/n you have a kickass voice to sing so why not-

"No, that's never gunna happen. I hate singing in front of massive crowds and will freeze up ruining everything and you don't need that now do you"

"Worth a shot in trying, so what state are you in now"

"Boston"

"That's awesome"

"Would be awesome if you were here, I'm just ready to come back to home now"

"You'll be home soon so don't get all sad on me, look don't just leave them and come back here. I'll be here when you get back so go explore and I'll see you in a month or so"

"You really are taking this better than I am right now, but okay guess I'll call you later"

"N/n ?"

"Yeah"

"Your heart does still belongs to me doesn't it ?"

"And no one else" hanging up I turn and see the guys coming just in time too
