Thanks for not giving up on me and this story! It means so much to me when I see a new comment or see that someone has voted or even added me to their lists.

If you haven't guessed, I really am on dialysis. My kidneys have 6 percent function. I am doing well on dialysis except I am very anemic.

You probably know that red blood cells are made in your bone marrow. But your kidneys have to tell your bones to do it. Kidneys make a hormone called erythropoietin, from here on called EPO. Without this EPO, bones can't do their job.

I have been getting shots of a synthetic EPO (Mircera, if you are interested,) but it isn't really working like it should. Now I am maxed out on it and my kidney doctor is trying to figure out what is going on.

Meanwhile, I am tired. Very tired. I want to do things but can't muster the energy.

I know everyone can relate because covid-19 is wearing everyone out.

So that's my excuse for being absent. Do NOT feel sorry for me! I am so grateful that the organs that failed have an external substitute. It's not a cure but it keeps me alive!

Thanks again for reading!

Take care of yourselves and keep yourself alive!!!
