Draco Malfoy is described as many things: Mean, Evil, Handsome, Annoying, Misunderstood, you get the picture.
Almost everyone outside of Slytherin hates him, but Slytherins have always had a soft spot for Hufflepuffs. They tend to protect us in most situations, and Hufflepuffs (mostly) look up to slytherins when they aren't being assholes to everyone.
Draco Malfoy's soft spot was y/n y/l/n, a fourth year hufflepuff. Though he would never admit it, even to Crabbe or Goyle.
"Draco! Look, I got a B on my exam. What'd you get?" I asked.
"An A. Guess that means I'm smarter than you." He smirked.
"Good job! I'm proud of you. I know you studied really hard." I smiled.
I know Draco is mean to me in public settings because he doesn't want to ruin his reputation, but when it's just us, which is rare, he is actually a cool guy.
He glanced around. "Thanks." He whispered so nobody would hear him.
I nodded with a smile until I saw Goyle looking over at us with suspicion.
"Goyle's looking. Do something mean." I said with a smile.
"You'll never be good enough, y/n." He put on his mean face as he spoke loud enough for goyle and others to hear.
Goyle ran over laughing. "You heard the man. Buzz off." He tilted his head towards the door.
I walked over to the door, pretending to be sad, only to put on a smile once out the door.
I went to study in the library for a bit, not because of what they said, I couldn't care less, I'm happy with my B. It's because I know that there's a Potions exam later today and Draco will be here studying alone, like usual. He's really the only Slytherin that actually studies for tests. It's attractive.
Once Draco walked in, I stood up, made eye contact, and went to the back corner. It's the only spot we can actually hang out and not be seen.
After a couple minutes he made his way to the back with me, sitting down and opening a book.
It was quiet at first.
"I think goyle is onto us." He spoke first.
"Goyle is as dumb as a bag of rice. There's no way he knows we're friends."
A small smile appeared on Draco's face as he looked at me.
"That's the first time you've called us friends."
"I suppose it is." I smiled back.
We both just stared at the other for a minute, before getting snapped out of it by some yelling in another part of the library.
"Seems like Ginny and Dean are doing well." I joked.
"Why are they dating? She is badass and out of his league."
I felt a spark of jealousy in me that I immediately pushed down.
"Did you just compliment someone?" I smiled. "I'm so telling Ginny."
"No, you can't! You know you can't."
I started to stand up jokingly and his hand grabbed mine, pulling me down onto his lap.
"This is quite a provocative position we're in Malfoy." I teased, sitting up straight in his lap.
His hands slowly slid down to my hips, leaving tingles wherever he touched.
It seemed like he wanted to say something, but didn't. He just moved me off of his and stood up, his cheeks turning pink. "I have to go." As he ran off I noticed a fairly large bulge in his pants.
Did I do that? I smiled with a slight laugh and stood up, going to class early. When the bell rang, Draco wasn't here.
He came in about five minutes after the lesson started and was given a warning.
He sat down across the isle from me.
I kept stealing glances at him.
While I was distracted by Draco, Goyle slipped me a verita serum.
I didn't even know at first until I saw Goyle laughing to Draco and Draco staring at me with a look of worry.
I scrunched my eyebrows together and looked away.
After class, goyle came up to me with a smile on his face.
"Y/n, good job in class today. You really have a knack for potions." He tried holding back a laugh.
"Um. Thank you? Why are you being nice?"
"I'll ask the questions, dear. Who do you like?"
"I like everyone except most slytherins."
"No dear, I mean who do you love. Who are you in love with?"
Draco came up behind him and interrupted.
"Goyle, Snape wants to see you in the common room.
"I'm in love with him." I blurted out. I looked at Draco, who looked shocked, and to the floor.
"Did you slip me truth serum?" I asked goyle.
"I would never do such a thing. And that's the truth." He winked before leaving.
"I'm sorry Draco, I didn't say anything because I knew it would ruin your reputation here and I didn't want your dad to be disappointed in you for being with a Hufflepuff, and I've loved you since third year when you had me clean you up after Hermione punched you in the face. And I know that some sliver of you is attracted to me too because you had a boner after I sat on your lap earlier, and-"
"You're talking way too much." He let out a laugh.
"Sorry." I pushed my hair back and took a step back.
"I'm going to go wait in my common room until the potion wears off. Hopefully nobody talks to me."
"Wait, uh. Can I ask you one more question?"
"Please don't make it too embarrassing."
I rubbed my arm.
"How would you feel if I kissed you."
"I would feel great. Please do."
He smiled and leaned forward, in front of everybody, and kissed me perfectly. His hand softly rested on my throat, ever so slightly choking me.
When he pulled away and removed his hand, I was the first to speak.
"I've been waiting for that for over a year and it was absolutely perfect." I whispered and hugged him.
"You've always been my soft spot y/n."
"Hopefully it stays that way forever."
"No doubt about it."
