Being rivals with Amity would include

•It's the first day of school

•And Amity Blight is determined to keep up her 'top student with select friends' persona

•But then you walk in and sit in front of her

•Suddenly all of her plans have flown out the window

•And Amity's staring forwards dumbly for a few seconds before snapping out of it

•She doesn't know whether to be relieved that she has a reason not to think about her reputation or furious that someone, a stranger at that could make her change her train of thought so quickly

•By this point you can feel someone burning holes into your back

•You nervously decide to turn around and flash a quick smile at the girl behind you, who apparently wants to eat you alive

•And oh my god

•Amity's brain actually stops functioning for a moment

•Because literally the most ethereal being has just smiled at her

•She'll admit it was nervously but hey that couldn't be her fault... right?

•Anyway, class finally starts and this year the teacher is pulling no punches

•One by one everybody has to walk to the front of the class and make an abomination

•Only a small baby one though

•The teacher's not that bad

•Yet

• Naturally,  Amity notices right away that her abomination is just a little bigger than everyone else's

•But so do you

•Her smug smile manages to push you just over the edge

• Not because you want to get her attention or anything

•So you decide that she's not getting this win

•Your abomination is just a little bit bigger that's Amity's

•Just enough to be annoying 

•Obviously she notices that

•And definitely not you absolutely adorable proud smile

•The teacher is pleased with both of you

•But unfortunately there can only be one winner

•It's you

•Of course the announcement of you being the current top student is just unacceptable

•So Amity decides that next lesson she's definitely getting you back

•This carries on throughout the year

•Amity might make a giant abomination one lesson

•But then your abomination would recite an entire poem the next lesson

•It becomes a bit of an inside joke in Abomination 101

•They all can tell you actually both like each other a lot more than the two of you let on

•But none of them will intervene

•That might mean certain death

•From either side

•Plus there's so much homework to worry about

•Turns out the teacher is that bad

•So you two continue your rivalry until the end of the school year

•And it doesn't seem like either of you will admit defeat and let it come to an end any time soon

•At the end of the day though neither of you would change a thing

• I mean Amity is your girlfriend by now

•But that doesn't mean that you won't try to beat her in the new school year...
