Watty Awards 2012 Interviews - Round Two

Kara_writes - nominated for best On the Rise, Science Fiction

 Ana glances down the carpet: Another point for me Betty.

* Ian Somerhalder, wearing that leather jacket and black pants proudly escorts Kara_writes down the orange carpet in tracksuit pants and a T-shirt.

   Ana does a quick double take before turning her nose up and her face away*

Kara_writes looks down at herself  apologetically: There my favorite pants. Classy, right?

*Ana sniffs*

Kara_writes smiles: Ian looks good though. I did want to take Damon Salvatore, but realized if we got technical as he doesn’t exist so Ian it is.

Ana: Humph.

Kara_writes face falls:I don’t understand. I’m here for m interview.

Ana: I’m not interviewing you.

Kara_writes: Why?

Ana: Principle

Sally (still laying on the ground) pops open an eye: You have principles?

Ana gasps: Yes, not many but they do exist.

Kara_writes: What did I do to offend you?

Ana: You bet me last year in the Watty’s or at least yme123 the alter me.

Sally: That’s not principle that’s sour grapes.

Kara_writes: What she said.

*Ana pokes out tongue and turns her back*

Sally (still on the ground): Well if your not going to interview her then I am. Ian help me up would you?

*Ian reaches for Sally’s upstretched arm and pulls her up.*

Sally: Boy you’re strong. *she smooth’s out her dress and clears her throat*  Welcome Kara_writes and congratulations on your story Injection being nominated for best On the Rise in Science Fiction.

Kara_writes: Thank you.

*Ana snorts*

Sally ignores Ana: Can you tell everyone a little about your story?

Kara_writes smiles: Well in a Dystopian world where an infection has ravaged most of the earth, a sixteen-year-old girl is caught breaking one of the city’s stringent rules and is forced to pay the consequences.

There’s also a bit of a twist at the end, because I love tricking people so much.

Ana: Tric-

Sally cuts her off: How did you react to the news?

Kara_writes frowns: I didn’t actually know until someone posted on my wall congratulating me! It was definitely a happy moment, as well as surprising. And then I may or may not have danced around the house for a few minutes. (:

Ana: A scheming dance?

Kara_writes: Hey, learn how to spell and you might do better this year.

Ana: Learn how to-

Sally: Enough Ana! Go play with Christian in the van, why don’t you?

Ana: I can’t *pouts* Prism stole him back.

Sally: There here *she pulls a small sparkly ball from her pocket* go fetch.

*Pulling back her arm she throws the ball down the carpet. Ana stands staring for a few seconds before giving in and following the ball*

Kara_writes:I can’t believe that worked.

Sally shrugs: You are how you act. Now while she is distracted, did you have any writer’s block during Injection?

Kara_writes: Yes, there were so many places where I got stuck with Injection. I found it particularly difficult to write, but in the end, I reverted back to listening music and Googling images that inspired me to write in the first place. And if that didn’t work, then I’d take a break and come back to it later. That always worked.

Sally smiles: Those are good tips.

Kara_writes: Oh no. She’s coming back.

Sally: Yeah how she can move that fast in those heels is a mystery. One last question before you make your escape. If you can have one super power what would it be?

Kara_writes: Yay, I love these sorts of questions. My power would definitely be the ability to change the past, or go back in time and change something that I’d regretted doing. That would be fantastic, but unless anyone has a time machine, I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon.

Sally: There are definitely a few things I wouldn’t mind changing. Not taking this job would be one of them. Well you had better go. Good luck and congratulations on making it though.

Kara_writes: Thank you. Goodbye.

*Ana arrives as Kara_writes leaves.*

Ana: thank goodness she’s gone. Bring on the next guest.

Sally: I haven’t done the final wrap up yet.

*Ana reaches for the microphone but Sally dances out of the way.*

*Ana grabs the microphone and wrestles away form Sally. The last of Sally’s words is covered by the high-pitched feedback squeal.*

( yme123 note: Just in case there is any confusion there is no bad feelings between Kara and myself. Her story was great last year and I wish her all the luck for this year’s story. I just thought this would be fun to write an interview like this. All comments in the argument’s came from me and not from Kara. It was fun to beat up on myself hehe :P )
