Guess Who's Back?

I awoke in an interrogation room, strapped to a chair. The light was dim, and it took my eyes a few moments to adjust. I made out two guards in the back of the room, partially hidden by the shadows clawing their ways out of the corners of the room. A bland, steel gray table sat in front of me, and across the table was a man with white hair and gray eyes.

"Kryo. You should be dead."

"On the contrary, Mr Carver, so should you. That drop should've killed you."

He smiled and hopped up on the table, wearing blue camouflage pants with a gray vest and black, long sleeved shirt. A holster on his waist held two handguns and a knife, with a few grenades. The right side of his face looked burned, and he wore a leather glove on his right hand.

Crouching down, he grinned and patted my head, laughing. He pulled the knife from his belt, and tenderly placing my hand on the table, he shoved the blade through the flesh, pinning me down. I felt the pain hard, like hot coals being dumped on my chest and arms. The sensation creeped it's way down my arms and up to my head, forcing a major headache on me.

"How the hell are you still breathing? I brought your ship down with you in it!" I questioned through gritted.

He smirked, as his words fell out of his mouth like blood, thick and warm.

"I always have my uses. My little sister made a great shield against the flames."

His words hung in the air above me, sending a chill through everyone in the room. Well, at least now I knew why his name was Kryo. He was cold and heartless, like a robot. Sacrificing his own sister, using her as a shield for himself to survive. That was something unforgivable.

But just as he finished speaking, the door behind him opened and out came the sister, hair tied up in a ponytail. Her skin wasn't harmed at all, and she looked just as she had when I saw her on the ship. He was lying, and I had almost believed him.

She whispered to him and he left, taking the guards with him. That left just her and I alone in the room. She walked around the table and smiled innocently, like a young schoolgirl. She then, to my surprise, unbinded me, and guided me out of the chair. Staring up at me, she laughed as her stormy gray eyes swirled in the low light.

She then laughed and hugged me tightly, despite me being not only an enemy, but much taller than her as well. She then hopped up and planted a soft kiss on my cheek, her lips leaving a cold feeling there.

I was caught off guard by this, until she laughed and spoke, her tone much more playful and childish than her brother's.

"Oh my god...it is you! Marko...I missed you so much! You have no idea how long I've waited to hug you and kiss you again! Ever since you left...after Alex died..."

She looked down, as if feeling pity for me. I was still lost on who she was exactly. She must've noticed, because she grabbed my hand and smiled.

"Time for a little walk down memory road, then...", she said.

The one thing I didn't understand was how she knew Alex was dead. I hadn't told anyone that, except Lacie.

Didn't I?
