'A Little Light'
No one's POV
It was beyond strange, what Jennie had just witnessed. A simple mention of Rosé caused Lisa to suddenly explode in utter rage.
Then the Thai girl screamed that Rosé was not only never to be mentioned, but also told Jennie to not at all invite her over. Once that was done, Lisa stormed off to her room and slammed the door shut.
"What the fuck?" Was all the stunned feline eyed girl could say.
After a few moments, Jennie collected her confused thoughts and started to clean up dinner by herself. Looking down at Lisa's plate, Jennie could see that the Thai hadn't even gotten halfway through dinner.
As she put the dishes in the dishwasher, Jennie thought back to her own relationship with Rosé. Right after graduation, Jennie and Kai went to school in KNUA and Rosé went to Busan Arts College in Busan.
At first, the friends kept up using email, texts and skype. But soon enough classes, projects, auditions and her turbulent relationship with Kai, caused those contacts to start to become more infrequent. Also thinking back, Jennie remembered that Kai would frequently say they needed to just focus on them and their future.
Jennie didn't mean to, but after the first year of college, contact between her and Rosé had almost ground to a halt. Jennie was too busy trying to keep Kai's bad side to come out.
Half way through their second year, Kai convinced Jennie to move to Seodamun, Seoul because he got a small TV part and they did. Jennie by then was in her own private hell and Rosé never came to mind.
Sitting down on the couch, Jennie realized she hadn't spoken to Rosé in almost 2 years. It only made Jennie realize that over the last 3 years, Kai had slowly become her whole universe, to the exclusion of pretty much everything else.
Jennie shook her head and mentally cursed herself for letting this happen. As much as she wanted to knock on Lisa's door, she knew the effort would be futile. Lisa would either not respond at all or just blow her top again. Lisa would not come out of the room for the rest of the night.
She picked up her phone to call Bambam but stopped when she heard movement from Lisa's room.
"She might hear me." Noted Jennie quietly.
Instead she pulled out one of her favorite horror films, '1979's The Brood' and watched it.
But she found herself unable to enjoy the classic horror film, as she kept wondering just what happened between Rosé and Lisa.
Looking back at the untouched keyboard, Jennie wondered, what if Rosé had to do with Lisa's abandonment of music, not to mention her whole changed attitude. It was just another piece of puzzle that all in all, made no sense.
Laying on the couch, half asleep, Jennie could only reflect on how damaged everyone seemed to be now.
"Nothing makes sense anymore." Jennie said to herself, as sleep comes closer.
Just before she did fall asleep, she had one final thought, 'Then again, maybe it never made any sense.'
The next morning was Friday and as usual, when Jennie woke up, Lisa was eating breakfast. Hoping the tall Thai would be in a better mood, Jennie stuck her head in the kitchen.
"I was going to go to the store after work, go get stuff for dinner. I was thinking of chicken with rice."
Lisa looked at her coldly. "I'll decide and make dinner from now on."
