'Take It Back'
No one's POV
Lisa's worst nightmare had come true. The truth about the decision she made 3 years ago had come out, resulting in Jennie moving back to Kai.
The day after the party, Lisa had reported to her father that Kai had raped Jennie. She also told her father that Jennie wished to press charges. Lisa wanted nothing more than to free Jennie from Kai and possibly turn their friendship into something more.
But upon arriving, Jennie recanted her story saying it was all a simple misunderstanding. Lisa knowing that Kai had gotten to her before they had arrived, was devastated. On top of that she had been utterly humiliated in front of her father.
Nothing more to say, they got in the car and left. Much to Lisa's surprise, on the car ride home, Marco Manoban assured Lisa he still believed her. Being a police officer, he had seen victims recant their stories more than once and quickly realized Jennie was lying.
Not only did he believe her, he offered to help Lisa. He said he could put her in contact with a social worker that worked with the police department. Marco said this social worker worked extensively with cases of abuses and could give her a lot of help and advice in riddling Jennie of Kai's influence.
"Don't worry Lisa, you did the right thing. We can do this. We can help Jennie." Said Marco, as they arrived home.
Lisa however, was no longer in any mood to help Jennie. She had put a lot of effort and heart into helping Jennie, only to get burned again and again. This time he not only abused her, but actually raped Jennie. Still Jennie went back to him. Added to this, was Lisa's personal feelings. She had a serious crush on Jennie and it was her dream to be Jennie's girlfriend. To see the woman she would have treated like a queen, go back to that monster was simply too much for her.
Lisa felt so humiliated, hurt, angry and jealous, that her feelings morphed into pure hatred. She was so full of hate, that she actually felt that Jennie deserved to be beaten and raped for being so stupid, for choosing him over her. Lisa told her father that she didn't want to help Jennie, not now or ever. She also told him, she was washing her hands off the whole things and wanted to go away.
She told him she wanted to attend Hongik Uni and begged him to see if she could stay with an aunt or an uncle that lived in nearby Yeongdeongpo-gu. Her plan was to leave right away, stay with a relative until the school term starts and then live in the dorms. She hated Jennie and wanted to be as far away as possible. She also wanted to be away so she'd never be tempted to help that ingrate again.
Seeing her daughter in such distress, Lisa's parents agreed and made the arrangements. Within days, Lisa had packed her stuff and left home, not bothering to let Jennie know.
Within days of arriving in Yeongdeongpo to stay with her auntie Manomart, Lisa began to regret not only her actions but her wanting Jennie to get beaten and raped. At the time she felt the feline eyed girl deserved it for burning her. But Lisa comprehended that was only jealousy and pain talking.
Soon enough, Lisa realized she had made a horrible mistake. One that with each passing day she began to regret more and more. Just thinking that she once thought Jennie deserved such horrible treatment, filled Lisa with self-loathing.
But as much as she regretted it, Lisa knew there was no way back. Lisa began school and tried to put the ever increasing feelings of guilt and self-hatred behind her. She had limited success, throwing herself into her classwork and music, but still Lisa secretly hated herself for what she had done.
Then came Lee Soo-Man, and the result of that disaster. Lisa had refused his advances and embarrassed him in front of his party guests. He retaliated by ruining her name in the record industry.
