Chapter 27

"Huy, kanina ka pa nakatulala diyan. Ano ba kasing nang-yari?" Taylor asked as she scanned through my bag. She picked out the clothes that I'll be wearing for tonight's party.

"I'm fine. Picked something out already?" I casually said, making sure to dodge her question. After that day, hindi na nag-paramdam saakin si Maven. That's the first. Yeah, sure nag-away narin kami dati pero not the point na walang pansinan for two weeks.

I tried calling him for days. None, it's either declined or unavailable, I gave up after five days. I'm ready to talk anytime, it's up to him now.

"Ready ka na ba mamaya?"

I nodded. "Yeah, why?"

"Wala lang, sino ulit partner mo?"

Naalala ko nanaman tuloy, parang tanga nanaman 'tong babae na 'to 'e. Lagi na lang ako inaasar kay Kier. Kasalanan ko ba kung parang may sama ng loob saakin 'yung lalaki na 'yon? As far as I can remember, I didn't do anything to hurt nor offend him. My conscience is clean. Mas malinis pa sa malinis.

That's the point. He frustrates me! The moment he sees me, it's like I'm a disease. Biglang nag-iiba 'yung mood ni gago.

I rarely cuss at someone....pero siya, he really do get on my nerves! Tapos siya pa partner ko sa dance! Nag-decide kasi 'yung batch leader namin 'nung Grade 12 na pag ball for the reunion. And I'm like, seriously? More than one year pa lang naka-lipas. Masyadong excited. Then sila pa yung pumili ng partners. Ang unfair.

"Can you please stop?" My face crumpled and cringed.
"Pwede bang si Brent na lang?" I muttered, oblivious to the fact that Alyana is in the room with us.

Hindi naman ata niya narinig. I mean... she's not reacting e. Please, ayoko talaga kay Kier. He creeps me out! I tried to remember if ever my brothers or my family did something to him. I even asked Tommy. Wala daw.

Then why is he like that!? Naiinis ako kasi siya lang yung may audacity to sungitan ako. It's a different feeling for me. Pinaka-ayoko pa naman ay 'yung may galit saakin. Hindi ako mapakali.

"You know what? You'll be fine...last time I heard he took up BS CE at UST, also he's been doing well..."

"And?"

"Wala, nagkw-kwento lang ako. Masama?"

I shook my head. It's not bad. On the other hand, it's nice to know that despite my bad impression of him... he's actually well-read and educated.

Maybe he's not that bad. I can give him the benefit of doubt.  Pero dapat quits lang! Kung bibigyan ko siya dapat ako 'din.

He's handsome but frustrating.

"Hey, guys! Oh, My God. I super miss you na!" Sam appeared beside us, siya pa lang 'yung hindi namin nakikita ngayon. She's busy with taking up BS Archi sa UST. I know she's gonna make a hell of an Architect.

She gave us both kisses on the cheeks.

"Gosh, how are you na? It's been weeks since I last saw you both" she complained, pouting. Unlike Taylor and Alyana, si Sam lang 'yung madalas hindi namin nakikita. Busy ka siya masyado, ang daming plates lagi, and we understand her.

"You know, I was kinda hesitant to attend at first, but then I told myself 'What the hell?' I'm going. Who doesn't want a good night, right?"

"Yup, now shut up" Alyana suddenly said, as she walked up to us. I miss high school. I remember Sam being so loquacious while Alyana's always shutting her up.

"Grabe, kararating ko lang e."

"That's the point, duh" Aly rolled her eyes. "And since you're here, let's all get something to drink." She hauled Sam to the bar section.
