I was currently sitting in a plane chair reading an Avengers comic with a cup of A positive blood in my right hand. The comic was "Journey into Mystery #85" and it featured Thor and Loki. The villain reminded me of Aro quite a bit. Takes what he wants, has long midnight black hair. There definitely were similarities between the two. Caius was a bit like Thor, but a villainous Thor. Thor has blonde hair like Caius and is always itching for a fight. Marcus, on the other hand, seemed like Odin to me. They both were wise.

"Ah, Avengers," Demetri plops down beside me. "Good comics. Felix especially likes the Hulk. I like Hawkeye the most. Did you hear that a movie for Iron Man is in the works?"

I ignore him and continue to read the comic at my disposal.

Demetri sighs. "Look, things around here would just go a lot smoother if you cooperate. Words would be nice. You can't just ignore us forever and be in your own world. It would be better since your chambers are going to be shared with the masters. You're going to have to talk to us eventually."

"It would be better since your chambers are going to be shared with the masters." No. I narrow my eyes and snap the comic shut and run to the room that was given to me and slam the door. I was not going to be around with monsters. I just wouldn't. Let alone, share my chambers with them.

"How is she?" I hear Marcus ask from the room I just came from.

"Stubborn. She refuses to talk and acknowledge." Demetri reports.

A sigh comes from Marcus' lips. "She can't ignore the mating bond forever. It's going to hurt her and my brothers and me. It already has started. It's just going to get worse. Even worse on her end since she refuses to acknowledge the bond."

I was hurting them? For a moment I felt guilty. No. I think to myself. I cannot allow myself to feel any sort of sympathy for them. My heart ached at my thoughts. My mind doesn't want to accept them, but my heart does. And unknowingly, so do I.

"I'm going to speak to her." I hear Marcus say. At his words, I scoot further into the bed, trying to make myself small. The door opens and Marcus walks in before gently closing it. He looks at me and sighs before sitting on the edge of the bed. I scoot even further if possible. "Look," he tells me. "I know we weren't exactly the best to you. We took you from your friends, I understand. I wish we met under different circumstances. This was never how we envisioned meeting our mate. We never thought we would meet on the different side of the battlefield. If we could have met you earlier, then we would do anything to make it so. It pains my brothers and I to know that you've been alive, and we didn't know." he says before getting up and moving closer to me, caressing my cheek. I unconsciously nuzzle into his hand, purring. The mating bond was in effect and I didn't quite know it. He felt like home to me. The others did too, but he seemed more comforting. "You don't have to talk to us now, but it would be a lot easier if you did. I don't want to see you in pain from the effects of the mating bond."

My heart seemed to soften at his words. He was being genuine. He was being honest. In truth, I was warming up to Marcus and even though my mind was screaming at me for warming to him, my heart didn't. I wasn't going to complain either. He felt like home to me. Caius, Aro, and Marcus all did, but Marcus seemed more willing to comfort me and I really needed it.

"We're getting close to Florence. I will send Heidi to get you ready." Marcus tells me.

"Wait!" I grab his arm. He looks into my eyes and I could see the glint of surprise that I talked. "Thank you."

His eyebrows raise. "For what, dear?"

I smile. "For acknowledging your wrongdoings." I don't know what came over me, but I reach up and kiss his cheek.

Marcus smiles and nods. "You're welcome, dear. Heidi will be in here soon." With that, he walks out of the room and closes the door, taking one last glance at me before closing the door shut.

I place my hands back into my lap and twiddle with my thumbs, anxiously waiting for Heidi's arrival. After a few minutes of just twiddling with my thumbs boringly, the door swings open and a woman with sleek black hair that seems to flow elegantly behind her walks inside the room. Heidi.

"Hello," she greets. "My name is Heidi. Master Marcus sent me to get you ready. We will be landing in Florence soon. But first, a bath." She snaps her fingers and a human servant walks in to draw the bath in the bathroom. "As future Queen, you must wear your best at all times. The masters had Chelsea give up some of her finest dresses." she walks over to the closet and opens it, revealing an abundancy of dresses. "Let's see...Ah perfect! This will compliment your light-blonde hair so well!" She pulls out a light-colored dress that has two sleeves that gather around the elbows. "This will look so beautiful on you!"

The human servant walks out and says, "the bath is ready for Her Lady" before leaving

Heidi nods. "Perfect." she says, laying the dress onto the bed. "The bath is ready for you, my Lady."

I shake my head. "You don't have to call me that."

Heidi smiles apologetically. "I have to. You're the master's mate. You're higher ranking than me. Since you aren't married to the mates yet, you don't have the title of Queen yet. So, the rest of the guards and I have to call you Lady."

I nod. "Thank you for your help." I say before heading into the bathroom to bathe.

"You're welcome, my Lady. Your dress will be here on the bed. If you need help, just call." Heidi says before leaving.

After bathing, I walk out into the bedroom and dress into the dress that Heidi laid out for me. She also had laid out beautiful white heels with flower pedal designs on them.

I slip my feet in them and a knock comes from the door

I slip my feet in them and a knock comes from the door. "Come in!" I say.

Marcus walks in and looks me up-and-down. He smiles in approval. "You look beautiful. Now come," he lends his arm out for me to take. "We've reached ground in Florence."
