I was bristling with anger. How dare they keep such a secret away from me. I now knew what Chelsea almost blurted out that one day at the tailor's and the secret that my mates were hiding.

"You've had wives for thousands of years?! You couldn't had just wait for me to be born and found?!" I yell. Aro and Caius were the victims of my rage. Marcus was sitting in a chair not taking the brunt. Though that did not mean I wasn't angry with him. "And you!" I snarl at Marcus. "You've kept this secret from me as well! Don't you dare think you're innocent in all of this, too!"

"My love--" Marcus tries to console.

A mix of a hiss and a snarl leaves my lips. "Don't! I don't want to hear your excuses, neither one of you! When was the last time you visited them in the tower?" Silence. "Well? Tell me!"

"Mia cara, maybe it's best--"

"Maybe it's best for what, Aro? Oh, I know. Telling the truth would have been the best! Now tell me. When was the last time you visited them in the tower? Tell me or I swear I will leave! Don't think that's not on my mind. I've been surely thinking of it since you told me of your wives."

Aro sighs. "The night of Alexandra's arrival."

I bristle. "And what did you do, hm? Did you kiss your wives? Did you have sex with your wives? Did you basically betray me every visit? I can't believe this." I rub my face with my hands. If I could cry, I would have. Venom was gathering in my eyes. "I just can't believe this. I've been nothing but faithful to you! I've tolerated you! I actually was accepting you! I kissed Marcus and what do I get? Unfaithfulness, that's what! I'm such a fool."

"We haven't kissed them for a millennia, amore. We haven't intimately touched them for a millennia. We never were in actual love. They were just company." Caius says. "Please, we wouldn't do anything to hurt you."

I shake my head. "My gift says you're telling the truth, but what were you doing those Thursdays where you would disappear?"

"We visited them," Aro says truthfully. I growl. "We explained to them how we found our mate and that they were to leave. We were simply helping them get ready to leave Volterra and giving them supplies to start out with. Love, we never meant to hurt you. We did not know that our former wives would react in such a concerning manner. A violent manner."

"Did you not use your gift?" I ask.

He nods. "I did. Their thoughts were of understanding. I am sure that their real intentions were hidden from me or were developed after they had left."

"And when did they leave?"

"The night of Alexandra's arrival, my dear one." Aro replies. "They've haven't been here for two months."

I nod. "I won't forgive you for this. But I know because of this threat that's come upon us we need to stick together. A house divided cannot stand. We as the leaders of this coven are the house. We have to stay together."

Aro smiles. "And that is why, my dear, you will make an excellent Queen."

If I were still human, I would be blushing so hard right now. "Thank you."

Caius stands up from the couch and buries his face into my neck. "We do not deserve such a wonderful, brilliant, courageous, and a loving Queen such as you."

"I'm not Queen yet." I say.

"No, but you soon will be." Caius says. He leans back and takes my chin in his hand and lifts my chin up. "And what a wonderful Queen you shall be." I stare into his eyes and he leans in, planting his lips on mine. A kiss.

"Ah, wonderful!" Aro claps. Caius and I break away from each other's lips. Aro steps forward, looking down at my lips. "I do very well agree with my brother, love. You will make such a wonderful Queen."

I hold my hand up. "Remember our promise? No physical contact until I walk into the throne room with the gown on."

He smiles. "Of course, of course."

I sigh. "Anyway, I need to go approve your list of my Queensguard. Adios." I kiss Marcus before leaving the room, shutting the doors behind me.

~In Romania~

Two brothers, one silver-haired, the other dark brown, sat beside each other on medieval thrones, smirking evilly. The wooden doors flew open and two women walked in. One blonde, the other brunette. Athenodora and Sulpicia.

"Ooh, my two favorite women! Come sit with us. Here, here." the silver-haired one said with glee. He spread his legs so Sulpicia could straddle him while Athenodora did the same to his brother. "Finally. After such a long time we finally found each other. Isn't that right, Stefan?"

Stefan, the brown-haired one, nodded. "Very much so."

"When do we start the plan? I hear that they're throwing a lovely ball for that whore next week. I doubt we'll want to miss that." Sulpicia cackled.

"Not yet. Not yet. We still are gathering people. People with gifts. People who want to overthrow the Volturi alongside us. By the time we are at our full might, we will attack." the silver-haired one said.

"And when will that be?" asked Athenodora. "I am getting quite impatient, Vladimir."

"Soon. We don't want to ruin their happiness quite yet. We need to make sure they get used to it so they let their guard down. Tire them out." Vladimir responded.

"And that one special vampire?" asked Athenodora.

"He will be quite an asset to us. He's already influencing others as I speak." Vladimir smirked.

A sigh left Suplicia's lips. "You're quite an evil husband, Vladimir."

"I do agree with you, sister. Mine is quite evil as well." Athenodora stared into Stefan's eyes.

Both of the brothers laughed. "I am quite glad. Who would guess that our mates would be the Volturi leader's ex-wives? Ha! The irony!" Vladimir laughed. "Now come, Sulpicia. Let's leave Athenodora with her mate. We'll go elsewhere."
