It was three months after the shopping trip. Aro granted me some of my wishes. I was allowed to go outside to the garden as long as an elite guard or one of my mates was with me. My mates were afraid of an attacker, even within the castle walls. I could go out to shopping trips but there had to be three elite guards with me. I could wear shirts and jeans in our wing but couldn't wear it outside the wing. My mates were very overprotective and didn't want anyone to attack or look at me with lust in their eyes. I agreed to these proposals. It was still a lot more freedom than there was previously--which wasn't much.

The castle had gotten fixed after my mates went on a rampage from my brief disappearance. The thrones were replaced. The walls were fixed. New furniture replaced the broken ones. Plus, my chambers got a new makeover. It was dark before but now it was bright and lovely. It fit my aesthetic. The bed was a gorgeous white with tan pillows and a tan throw blanket. The end table was of beige. The mirror was gorgeous with its curves that enclosed around the glass. There was a white ottoman in front of the bed with a beige tray that was holding flowers and a closed vase that hides a decorative cactus. On the end table, there was a Greek-styled lamp with a vase of flowers. There was also a small jewelry box. The room was just simply gorgeous.

My relationship with Caius was starting to heal

My relationship with Caius was starting to heal. Marcus and I's bonds were very much golden. Aro's was a light golden while Caius' was starting to become a light golden as well. Marcus was still the only mate I had kissed but Aro was getting there. He kept loving me with gifts and even though I felt it was too much, it was nice to know that he was willing to do anything to make me happy. Gifts very much made me happy. I also had decided to let him touch my hand, to use his gift. I had come to terms that if this relationship was going to work, we had to be willing to share our secrets with one another. And that applied to Caius and Marcus as well.

When I gave Aro my hand, he saw my life from birth to now. His face showed where he was in my memories. A big smile was on his face as he watched my newborn self being lifted into my father's arms and then being passed to my older sister's arms when she was only three at the time. He watched as I played with Peggy and some of our friends, Betsy and Beth. He watched my teenage years as my memories showed him the balls that were hosted in our house. Me dancing with continental soldiers and British, depending on who held Philadelphia. He saw me being happy at Peggy and John Andre's growing relationship. He saw the distaste I had for Benedict Arnold. His face turned sour as he saw Benedict Arnold being rude to my sister and I, demanding for my sister's hand. He saw the growing hatred I had for Arnold for he was the cause of John Andre's death. He saw the night that I was turned. He saw Garrett and I running into battle as we snatched redcoats from their lines to drain them of their blood. He saw me meeting George Washington, Marie-Joseph-Paul-Yves-Roch-Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, and Alexander Hamilton. He saw everything from the beginning of my life to now.

Caius surprisingly apologized for his temperament. I knew he was just trying to protect me, but he was going way too far in punishments. We went out for a run once a week, just us two together. It was healing our relationship according to Marcus' gift.
