Chapter 15

I almost tripped over myself when I saw Somi.

At first, she didn't see me, but when she looked up, she smiled.

Somi:
"Hey, Chae!"

Nayeon and Jeongyeon look back at her, confused, but realized that it was Jeon Somi from the news.

I sighed and was about to talk, but Nayeon beat me to it.

Nayeon:
"Woah. Jeon Somi, right?"

Somi walked over to Nayeon and Nayeon took her hand and shook it.

Somi:
"Yeah. I'm Somi. It's nice to meet you, Im Nayeon."

She turned to Jeongyeon and bowed.

"And you too, Yoo Jeongyeon."

Jeongyeon:
"Oh, yeah. You too."

Chae:
"Somi, what are you doing here?"

Somi:
"Oh, I just wanted a drink. I didn't know you work here, Chae."

Chae:
"O-Oh..."
"Uhm, if that's it, then what would you like?"

I pulled out my pen and notes and wait for her to respond. I was surprised Somi came here. Sure we live in the same city, but what are the chances of coming across her again.

Somi:
"Just a strawberry refresher."

I noted it down and walked away. Nayeon pulled Somi into a seat next to her and Jeongyeon.

Chae:
"I'll be right back with your drinks."

I exhaled with relief, thanking her that she didn't ask me anything about that night with her.

It's been half an hour and Somi is still talking with Nayeon and Jeongyeon, while I was busy attending to other customers. I'm glad that they're getting along but I'm confused if Somi watches stuff on Twitter or those social media sites.

I only have a 2 hour shift today but because of lack of customers, I might be released earlier. I sighed and dropped my head down.

Nayeon:
"Hey, Chae!"

I look up and Nayeon was waving me over. Walking out from behind the counter, I walk over to them.

Chae:
"You guys done?"

Somi:
"They're not. I am."

Somi stands up and looks at me.

Chae:
"O-Oh. Well, have a day good, Somi."

She walks towards the exit but when she walked past me, she whispered "Park down south. 8 pm. Meet me there."

I almost got chills down my spine. I turned and watched her leave.

Nayeon:
"Do you think she read the news?"

Jeongyeon:
"I doubt it. She didn't seem to have any idea what happened."

Jeongyeon:
"Wait, did you even tell her about you and Mina?"

She turned to me.

Chae:
"Uhh...no?"

They both scream "What?!"

Nayeon:
"You didn't tell her?!"

Chae:
"L-Listen! I didn't have time! Nor did I want to!"
"I promise I'll tell her soon."

Jeongyeon:
"It's for the best. She's a sweet girl."
