It was a great day today to go out and roam around the land of Liyue to stop any lives from near death.

You are an adeptus. Your duty is to help those in crisis before death happens. You accepted your duty that was given to you by the one and only Rex Lapis.

You were taking a walk at Dihua Marsh for a breather until you felt the presence of some danger nearby. You started sprinting towards the direction of that presence. Once you arrive, you notice a little boy being surrounded by hillichurls.

Seeing this little boy brought back memories from your past life but you decided to forget it for now. You won't let it happen again. You attacked the hillichurls with (W/T). You turned around and notice the little boy crying. You walked to him and bent down to his height.

"It's alright, I have dealt with those hillichurls. There's no need to cry." You comforted the little boy. The little boy hold you tightly scared of being alone. "Where are your parents?" You ask him.

"I-I got lost." The little boy replied sniffling a little from the crying earlier. "Don't worry I'll help you find your parents." You told him. He immediately look up at you with stars in his eyes. That surely made him happy.

"Do you know where you and your parents were walking to?" You ask him and the little boy nodded. He guided you on the path. Eventually he stopped. "This is where we ate earlier. Than I told them I wanted to see the flowers. I must have gone too far." The little boy said probably about to cry again. It was near the Wangshu Inn so you decided to ask the inn workers for help.

Once you arrived at the top of the inn, you asked the receptionist if she had seen the parents of this little boy. The lady behind the counter mentioned that Xiao had went to find the little boy that the parents begged for his help. The lady then mention that the parents are probably nearby so I had a chance to find them. You left the child in the receptionist's care so you could go find the parents of this child.

You went back to the area where you found the boy since that's where the boy told his parents. Once you arrived, you noticed a boy. You can tell that he had the strength stronger than a mere human. He noticed you standing at the path.

"Who are you." He ask with a stern voice. "I'm here looking for parents of a lost child. And who are you?" You replied. "Looking for a missing child." A strong wind picked up. You and that boy had a stare off. Not trusting each others words. You then sensed another presence of danger. You needed to help them. That boy felt it too for sure. You both went to that location and noticed two people in danger. Before you could take out your weapon, the boy beside you have already went and saved those people. You stood there in awe. The way he fought. Surely he wasn't a mere human.

"This lady here mention looking parents for a missing child." The boy told the two people. "Really! Where is he?!" The woman exclaimed happily. "I brought him to Wangshu Inn to come find his parents." You replied. "Oh thank you! Thank you!" The man thanked you very happily. The man and lady started making their way towards the inn leaving you and the boy alone. The boy himself started walking towards the inn as well.

"Hey. You are Xiao am I right?" You asked him before he left.

"What do you want." He replied boldly. Clearly wanting to leave.

"You're the Guardian Yaksha, aren't you?."

He perked up a little but relaxed back.

"And what about you? The Guardian of Life, aren't you?." He retorted back.

"You don't have to sound so rude. I can see it in your eyes. You're..lonely."

Seems that must have made him angry. He then walked off. I quickly caught up with him. "It won't hurt to have a friend you know." You told him giving him a reassuring smile. He just looked at you and kept walking like he saw nothing. How rude. You followed him either way back to the inn.

Once you both arrived at the inn you both noticed the little boy and his parents are reunited. The family then left the inn. The receptionist came to us and thanked us for helping reunite the family. She then gave us 2 plates of almond tofu. It looked divine! You looked at Xiao and he was already eating the meal with a smile.

"Enjoying your meal I see." You looked at him smiling. "This is my favourite dish." He said shyly. You giggled. You then decided to start munching down on the almond tofu on your hand. It truly was delicious. No wonder Xiao loves it.

After some time, you and Xiao started talking. Having idle chat at the inn. You still wondered about why you sensed loneliness in his eyes. So you decided to ask him.

"As you said earlier, I'm the Guardian Yaksha. The conqueror of demons. It's my job to slay those of evil and protect those souls that cannot live on." Xiao replied. It must be hard for him to be around people. "I'm here for you." You told him. He turned to look at you with that confusion look. "Uhm. I mean. If you need someone to be friends with I'm here." You quickly corrected yourself blushing abit. He just stared at you. He snapped out of his daze and patted your head. You looked at him and smiled. He returned a genuine smile to you as well. "I'll gladly accept that request. Maybe it's meant to be." He said to you.

You and Xiao spent a lot of time together, helping each other out and even making his favourite dish together.

We were sitting at the roof of the Wangshu Inn enjoying the sunset in the sky. "I want to bring you somewhere." Xiao spoke. He stood up and held his hand out for you. You took it happily and he teleported himself to the bottom of the inn. "Let's watch the sky together at Liyue Harbor today." Xiao said. You nodded and followed his lead.

You both arrived by a mountain side near Liyue Harbor. He sat down on a rock and patted the space beside him so you could sit with him. "Why here today?". You ask him. "It's a surprise. Just wait a bit okay?" Xiao replied you. You nodded and just watched the sky as the sun sets. It was truly beautiful especially the city. It slowly gotten dark and a blue deer started jumping into the sky. The deer reminds you of Moon Carver. It then passes both you and Xiao and went further up into the sky and exploded into fireworks. It was truly beautiful. Xiao noticed your smile and the sparkle in your eyes. He placed his hand around you to bring you closer to him. You lean in towards him and place your head on his shoulder.

Then small yellow lights started floating into the air. They were lanterns. "This is the Lantern Rite Festival that happens every year in Liyue." Xiao told you. You nodded your head. "It's truly beautiful. I'm sure even my past life self would be in awe." You replied him. "It truly is beautiful. Just like someone I know." He said the last part shyly. You giggled at his reaction. You snuggled closer towards Xiao.

You both watch the lanterns fly up into the beautiful sky. A great way to end the day.

Your duties may be opposite of each other but that's won't stop the two of you from being together.

Maybe it really was meant to be.
