Charming didn't want to let him go, feeling like his world would become bleak again without him in it.

His eyes had been fixated on the beautiful orbs that stared back at him, luring him into a trance and making him feel unable to look away, fearing that he may not get to look into them again.

Max was blushing and their close contact meant that Charming could see exactly how his presence was causing him to react, and that made him slightly smirk. However, he feared that he too was blushing due to the thoughts that were in his head.

He had an urge to run a finger down the side of his ace, to show him a tenderness that he deserved, but he knew that he had to refrain from acting on his urges. Instead, he leant closer to him, moving his mouth closer to her ear so only he could hear him. "May I know your name?" He asked, eager to know.

Max couldn't help but watch the prince, simply intrigued that he wanted to know his name. He also noticed how his voice sent shivers down his spine, the breath on his ear making goosebumps rise.

God, his voice. It was so gentle, yet moving. There was kindness in his eyes. When king, he instantly knew he'd care for his people. All thoughts left his mind as she was soon embraced, the pounding of his heart surely felt against the Prince's chest.

The blush darkened as he felt his breath bouncing of his ear, his fingers lightly grasping onto him. "Max... My name's Max." As much as he struggled not to stutter, he couldn't help the shakiness that showed in his voice. The prince was talking to him and only higher, it really was like a dream come true.

The smile on Max's face was contagious, it made the prince smile too and he wanted to do everything in his power to let that smile never fade. His eyes seemed to lock with his and neither of them dared to look away, they were lost in each other and neither had plans to escape.

He could tell that Max seemed to look deeper than his eyes, it was almost like he was trying to look into his southern but he would be lying if he said he hadn't been doing the same.

"Max," he repeated, the name sounding so sweet and smooth as it rolled off his tongue. He took his hand, bowing in front of him and placing a tender kiss on his hand- "It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, dear Max."

He looked up at Max as he placed a kiss on his hand, the blush flaring on his cheek causing him to smile more. He could see that his actions had an effect on, and even a simple smile from made his heart go aflutter. He was a romantic, he liked to read- even he only believe these type of things happened in romance novels, yet here he was feeling like he was living out every cliche emotions that he read.

He pulled Max closer to him and started to twirl him around the dancefloor. The shakiness in his voice showed that he was clearly nervous, but he found it cute. He would try and do everything in his power to ease his nervousness, but he understood that was hard- but at least he acted different than most women did around him, but he wasn't a woman, that was a massive advantage. He had never really taken to women anyway, men were definitely more his thing. This man, in particular, was his thing.

Max was dancing...with a prince. Making sure to be as polite and poised as possible, since he didn't wish for him to fall for someone he wasn't. Even if things didn't work well in his favour, he had so much he wanted to tell him. He wanted to ask so many questions that taunted his mind.

As his eyes stayed connected with the princes, he wanted to speak but no words could fall from his lips. Maybe later. Glancing up at the clock, he knew he had time. However, he was afraid time wouldn't be on his side. He had to leave at midnight, and could not stay any later. He had work in the morning and knew if he didn't leave his boss would kill him for being tired in the morning.

He feared he wouldn't get the chance to have a genuine conversation with him, but before he knew it he was spun back around to face him. Before he could stop him from daring to ask for a request, he said "I would love to be able to talk with you. If you'll allow it, of course, your highness."

"Feel free to call me Charming," he requested, wanting to hear Max call him by his name since he got the pleasure of calling him by his.

He had requested to speak with him, that perked his curiosity. What on earth did he have to speak to him about? Yet, he would not turn down such an offer. He felt much obliged to gain even a fraction of his time and his attention.

"It would be my pleasure, would you like to accompany me to the garden, Max?" He asked, bowing in front of her again and placing his hand out for him to take.

He couldn't help but feel slightly giddy as he placed his hand in his, but they couldn't hold hands- not in the ballroom. People would speculate, not that he had a problem being associated with him. Yet, he placed his arm out for Max to wrap around it, so they could walk together in sync.

"Prince Charming? Well, that truly does suit you." Genuinely meaning what he said, he felt much more comfortable with him. He could see the man behind the crown, and a part of him wondered if his reaction would be different if she was in his regular clothes. He knew that the prince had probably never seen outside the castle walls, which made him fear that he would not like him in his apron, probably having high expectations since he had been brought up in a castle.

"I would love to." A heavy part of him was relieved to get away from the crowd. He never was one to be around so many people, and he wasn't willing to admit it all felt rather overwhelming.

As he took his arm and Charming began to lead him to the garden, he glanced back up at the clock again. He didn't have much time at all, but hopefully, all the time he had would be enough to see the Prince behind the crown...
