"Whatchu doin?" Keem asked me as I finished texting Geo and propped my phone back up

"I was texting my best friend"

"Who? Geo?"

"Yeah"

I waited for the popcorn to finish and once it was done I grabbed the chocolate syrup, drizzling it over the popcorn before putting it back up and went in my room closing the door behind me

"I need to finish this work for my math class. I started it when I came home but I got tired"

"Who you got for math?"

"Mr Barnes" I answered while I grabbed a handful of popcorn and ate it. Keem shook his head

"Yeah you better finish that shit. That nigga don't play"

"I knowwww. That's why I need to do it"

Keem took the crewneck sweater off that he wore and I saw he had his arm bandaged up

"What happened to your arm"

"I hurt it at practice"

"Awe. You gone be able to play Friday, right?"

"Yeah. It ain that bad. You coming to the game?"

"Ion know. I barely wanted to go to the one last Friday"

I stuffed some more popcorn in my mouth and keem sucked his teeth

"You might as well. You ain got shit else to do"

"I'll think about it"

"You need to forreal. And I'll take you home after the game"

"I'll let you know keem" I said so he could stop asking "you know what, I need to get this homework done so I'll talk to you tomorrow"

"Yeah you handle that"

I rolled my eyes and smiled "bye keem"

I hung up the phone and started to FaceTime Geo, propping my phone up while I grabbed my workbook off of the end of the bed where I left it. He answered as I sat the book on his lap, looking in the camera

"Whatchu doing?"

"My homework. You did yours?"

"Yeah, you gotta be like me"

"Boy bye! Probably lying"

"I'm not.. i called you bout 3 hours ago to see whatcho ass was doing so we could do that shit together but you sent me straight to voicemail"

"I swear I ain get a call"

"Yeah yeah" he muttered as he took his sat up in his bed "you probably was on the phone with one of yo boyfriends"

"You always sound so pressed" I laughed

"Whatever man.. anyways, lemme tell you bout this bitch Kenya"

"Kenya who?"

"Ol girl I brought to the game"
