"Yeah um, this wasn't my choice"

"I can tell" she sits on the stool next to me as the bartender comes back with a pint of icy water, "thanks"

"Hey Maia, you alright?"

"Yeah, and yourself?"

"I'm good thanks, can I get a shot?"

The bartender, Maia, lost her smile, "You sure? I mean with the ways you've bee-"

Maia nods and goes back leaving me confused, but obviously it's non of my business so I put it passed me

"Friend of yours?" I ask instead, taking a sip of the water

We both go silent not knowing what to say so we just sit there for a while then Maia comes back with Clarys shot which she look at with sad eyes

"So...you coming back to school on Monday?"

"Why? You miss me?" She asks and smiles playfully at me

"W-well I mean- I. I just-"

"I was just kidding, of course I'll be back, don't get so worked up" the girl chuckled and swallowed her drink, ordering another

"So... about this outfit...who exactly had you put it on?"

"My uh...my sister"

"And where is she? I'd like to meet her" Clary said with hope in her tone

"I don't know, she's somewhere in there so good luck finding her" I point towards the dance floor

"Ah, I see," she chuckles,"so let me guess, your the smart one and she's the dangerous one?"

"Yep, and Jace"

Clarys shoots up with her eyes wide, "Jace is here? Your brother?"

"Yes, why?"

"Uh, no reason..."

I was about to ask her why she was so interested in Jace but someone else caught her attention, "Clarissa!"

She spun towards the voice with a rather unpleased expression on her face, I look at where she was facing seeing a man approaching us, the man I saw her with on the first day back

"What do you want?" She asked with a tone full of attitude that I've never seen before, not even on my sister

"He wants to see you" the man said, giving me a side glance looking me up and down making me even more paranoid so I hug myself
