"Your drink will be ready in a few minutes" "Thank you" you smiled kindly at the barista. You waited off to the side by the pick-up area. You glanced around your surroundings and made an awkward eye contact with an attractive patron across the way. You immediately lowered your head and kept your eyes fixated on your phone, nervous about the eye contact.
You heard a variety of drink names being called out, but didn't heard yours. You glanced around to see that everyone around you had already picked their's up and you were the only
one waiting around.You took a step towards the pick up counter before someone entered your line of sight. You turned your head to find the attractive stranger from across the way
before you.
"Hi, actually I'm sorry" he began with a radiant smile, "I think I picked up your coffee by mistake" he held the drink in his hand. "Ah..." your gaze fell towards it. "I already had drank some of it before my own drink came out..." he muttered in embarrassment. "Ah..." you didn't really know how to react. "Let me buy you a new one" he offered. You laughed awkwardly and
nodded in agreement.
You couldn't just say 'oh no, it's okay', you really had gone out of your way after class to get a coffee before you studied. You followed him as he headed towards the register. He motioned for you to tell the barista your drink order as she looked at you in confusion, having just seen you. "Was your drink not made correctly?" she looked at you, concerned. "Uh. actually-" "I took her drink by accident"
the stranger confessed with a hearty laugh. "Ahhhh!" the barista burst into a laugh. "Your name?" the barista asked as she received your order. "Y/N" you replied casually, "Alright, we'll let you know when it's ready!" "Thank you" you smiled. "Y/N, right?" the stranger broke the silence again. "Yes" you replied softly. "I'm jungkook"
he introduced himself with a smile. "Nice to meet you, coffee stealer" you joked. He seemed taken aback by your joke, but he was feeling a bit more relieved that you weren't upset
about the mishap. "Nice to meet you too,Y/N" he smiled widely, "Im sorry again"he scratched the back of his neck as he laughed. "It's okay" you smiled back,he really was attractive up close-
you secretly wondered if the mishap was a blessing in disguise but What you didn't knew was that he staged the entire thing so as to have an excuse to talk to you. He's spotted you at the coffee shop multiple times before but was too scared to approach you, in fear of being rejected. But this time he carried out a risky plan, but it seemed to have worked out in his favor.
"So ... are you a student?" he glanced at your textbooks which were peeking out of your backpack. "I am" you nodded, "I was gonna study... but there's nowhere to sit so I might just go home" you glanced around. "You can study at my table if you like, I promise I won't distract you" he chuckled. "I might just take you up on your offer" you smirked. He hoped this would be the start of a new, budding friendship... that could hopefully turn into something more.
