There was a school dance going on. It was a fairly big event. People would confess to others and ask them to the dance. Of all the events in the school, this one created the most couples.

He messaged me and told me he wanted to speak in private before school started. My heart skipped a beat. I thought maybe he would tell me that he likes me back and ask me to the dance.

My heart didn't stop beating from then on. I walked to school, the anxiety building up in my throat. I thought seriously about my answer. Of course, I already knew what it would be.

When I saw him in the hallways, I smiled at him and he grabbed my wrist, gently leading me to a secluded corner. He took a deep breath before saying what was on his mind.

"I want to invite your best friend to the dance. How should I confess?"

My heart sunk and my smile almost dropped. I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly prepared for this. Anyways, it didn't bother me. As long as he's happy.
