Chapter 40

“What the hell was that!?” coach washijō asked while crossing his arms

They were outside the gymnasium, Y/n sat on a bench while his teammates surrounding him with the coach in the middle

"They were making fun of me." He said earning a scoff from the coach and concerned look from his teammates

“You're ruining the image of Shiratorizawa." The coach said

Y/n stood up ready to fight the coach until he felt two of his teammates holding him back

"I didn't wanted to be here in general, coach” he said while gritting his teeth and giving the coach a glare

Coach washijō just rolled his eyes at the male's behavior and went to face the coach of the opposing team and have a talk about what had happened

Y/n stood up and walked away ignoring the call's from his teammates, he went to the back of the building and starts to punch the wall. His knuckles began to bleed but he seemed unfazed of it.

Just before he could land another punch a hand grabbed his wrist and pulled it away, he looked to his left and saw sugawara looking at him with sad eyes

He tried to pull his hand away but suga's grip tightened and pulled him into a tight hug. He tried to struggle but it only made suga's hug to tightened around him trapping him in his arms

Y/n have stopped from struggling and just gave in from the hug suga's giving him, he'd say he's lying if he didn't enjoyed this

Its helping him calm down, slowly he returned the hug and began to cry on suga's shoulder while the male gives him reassuring pats on his back

“It's not your fault, its them.” suga said leaning on the wall to support both their weight

“Nothing is your fault, remember when I said that I won't leave you? That's a promise I will keep.” suga said smiling

Y/n pulled away and kept his head hung low, Sugawara sighed and lifted his chin up with his index finger, Y/n was a bit taller than suga.

“Say..after this training camp just before the inter-high, wanna go somewhere?just the two of us so that you can relax” suga suggested while giving the Male a smile

Y/n looked at suga and gave him a small smile before nodding, this made suga's heart beats rapidly and it gave him hope that maybe he still have a chance with the male.

But for now he needs to help him move on from his past that seems to be hunting him still.

And he promised it to himself.

“I apologize for my behavior” Y/n said bowing in front of his teammates and his coach

Coach washijō sighed and nodded at him

“Next time you do something like that you will be kicked from the team.” he said earning shocked looks from the members

“Understood.” Y/n said giving his coach a warm smile who was caught of guard by his sudden change of behavior

Earlier he was grumpy and cold bow he's being kind...

Half an hour have passed and they were gathered since they will be having a match against karasuno who's been losing nonstop

He'll be playing throughout the game since coach washijō said it will be his punishment...

Ushiwaka and Daichi shakes their hand and soon the game started.

Kageyama was the first to serve sending it to Y/n who received it smoothly earning a smirk from the demon coach.

He's been observing the male since day one and he's amazed at how talented he is, he may be a fallen prodigy from karasuno but he's sure as hell he'll rise up as the prodigy of shiratorizawa.

“Ushijima-San!” kenjirō called and set the ball to ushijima who's spiked it and earned them a point

“Nice kill, ushijima-san” y/n said while smiling.

Ushijima turned to him and gave him a nod before going back to his original position.

Next to serve was Y/n, He bounced the ball a few times before holding it and taking a deep breath, he threw the ball up and did a jump serve

The ball went straight to Nishinoya's arm and received it perfectly, Y/n smirks and went to his position beside Tendō.

Kageyama and hinata was about to make a quick attack, Y/n's eyes was following hinata's movement his eyes widened when he realized that he was faking it. His eyes darted towards asahi who's on the other side ready to spike the ball

He felt his body froze in spot when he saw the ball land on their side of the court follow by the scream of the other team

“Hinata..just baited me” he said to himself

“Y/n-senpai! Next time I won't be baiting” hinata yelled earning a smack from kageyama followed by the word 'Boke'

Y/n couldn't help but to chuckle at them and went back to his teammates who's taking a short break, he said beside Semi who handed him a water bottle

“How is it?..playing against your former teammates ” semi asked

“Its weird and quite interesting since I get to see and experience how powerful they are” he answered while smiling at the direction where karasuno is currently at

Sugawara turned and locked eyes with the male,  he gave him a warm smile and thumbs up. Y/n chuckled and shakes his head before turning away to face semi who's raising an eyebrow at him

“Whats your relationship with him?” He asked catching Y/n off guard and nearly choked on his water

He looked at semi and then smiled as he remembered everything Sugawara has done for him, from being so persistent just to get him back to volleyball and not leaving his side and for saving him from his mom.

He looked down and smiled softly, he may have developed feelings for the male but its not that strong yet he still needs time to understand what's the feelings from his chest is trying to tell him

Looking back at semi he smiled and said..

“It's something special...”
