Y/n was laying on Julie's bed while the girl was hugging her. "I told them to stay alone from Trevor and Caleb an what they did?" "They abandoned me at the dance" Y/n looked at the girl. "We don't need them" Julie nodded. Y/n looked at the ceiling. "I thought Luke was sincere with me..." "Maybe he didn't want to hurt you, for this reason he didn't tell" "Yeah..." The mark hurt again. "Juls, we need to stop this. I can't handle this anymore" The girl hugged her. "Everything will be fine"
The next morning, the girls woke up late. "Y/n, it's late! C'mon!" "What? What day is today?" Julie giggled. "School day" "Again?" Y/n snorted and get dressed.
When they went out the house, the boys greeted to the girls but they ignored them and Luke sighed.
When the girls arrived at school, they were late for dance class and went next to Flynn. "Sooo, we missed our first three classes. Why didn't you call us to wake us up?" "You said you were never gonna show your face at school again, and I'm a very literal person. Hey y/n, how is it going with Luke?" "Bad. I saw him dancing with another girl but most important, he lied to me and did the opposite of what I told" "Boys, am I right?" They giggled. "I'd kill them if they weren't already dead" Said Julie "Having a band is supposed to help your social life, not ruin it" "Ex- band" "Yeah, Julie left the band" Added y/n as Flynn nodded "Right, sorry" "It's all so messed up. I thought they were in this with us. But obviously, I was wrong" "Girls, it's not your fault, ok? Don't blame yourselves. Anyway, have you talked to Nick today?" Asked to Julie "Yeah Juls, he was pretty chatty at the dance" Added y/n with a smirk Julie rolled her eyes. "No, and I'm kinda dreading it. At least I know I won't see him in this class" But the whole squad of boys entered in the class. "Uhm, Juls, are you sure?" Asked y/n "Wha... What are they doing here?"
"Right on time, Coach. So, students. Coach Barron and I have decided that his lacrosse team will be part of our class for a few weeks. Many pro athletes have used dance to help them with coordination and mobility" "This isn't about flirting with girls" Said the coach looking at Nick and another boy who were looking at Julie and y/n. "It's about making us better so we can actually win a game" "Everybody pair up"
A boy took Flynn by her hand. "Flynn, don't leave us" "I'm sorry" Y/n giggled. "Hey Julie, look who is coming" "Oh dear" Nick walked towards her. "Hey" "Hey, you" A boy went towards y/n. "Hey, I'm Joshua. Do you want to be my partner?" She looked at him. "Your... Your what?" "Partner, for the dance" Said giggling. "Oh yeah, of course you meant it" The boy smiled and took her hand. "We will be great together" Julie and Flynn smiled at her and y/n blushed. "Uhm, yeah"
They started to practise. "Let's do it again. Half- time, no music" Y/n looked at Joshua. "You ready for this?" "Sure. Uh... My little sister throws a lot of princess dance parties" Y/n giggled. "So you are a perfect prince... I mean-" He smiled. "Yeah, I get it" They started to dance. "Nice. Not so bad, your Majesty" "Thank you, m'lady" After, he fell. "Oh, I'm sorry" "No, it's not your fault, I'm not a good dancer and I fell for you" Y/n blushed at his words. "Uhm... I mean, I fell because you are a good dancer and I'm not..." She smiled. "It's okay Joshua"
The boys were in a bar. Alex and Reggie were looking at a girl who was taking a picture of her food while Luke was writing on a note. "Now that's a good pic" Said Reggie Alex looked at him. "Is this what we're here for? To watch people who take pictures of food?" "It's fun, anyway, Luke said something about this place being a hot spot for music industry people" Luke sat at the table. "Boys, being a ghost definitely has it's privileges. I just wrote our names on the playlist for tonight" Alex whispered to Reggie. "I'm getting a little worried about him. He keeps forgetting Julie quit the band" Luke rolled his eyes. "And she's gonna come back as soon as she knows we have a great gig" "But if she doesn't come back, let's not forget we do have somewhere else we can play and eat pizza" Said Reggie "Reggie, really? Y/n is mad at me for this story. I know it was awesome to be seen by lifers at Caleb's party, but... I care about y/n and I don't want to mess up again. Also, we got this with Julie, we don't need him"
A jolt hit them in the chest and they groaned. "Ouch" "It feels like that time I was fixing my amp in the rain" Said Reggie "You shouldn't... Ok, look, do you think something's wrong with us?" Asked Alex "We ate ten pounds of pizza yesterday without a stomach" "Or maybe y/n was right" "So, we're just gonna forget about getting back at Trevor? That jerk stole our music" "And he has to live with that guilt. It's just like what y/n said, we have a new band with Julie, a new sound and we can't do nothing to go back, we can only go on, ok?" They nodded. "Wow, y/n changed you" Said Alex He smiled. "I want to be a good person for her" Reggie patted him. "I'm sure she knows how good you are, and she likes you, no matter what" "Thanks buddy"
After school, Julie and y/n went to her mom's studio and saw the boys, who started to sing. "We're sorry" "So sorry" "We're super- duper, crazy, stupid" "Sooorry" "In case you missed it, we're really sorry" Said Reggie. Y/n crossed her arms. "Yeah, I... I got that part" "We've been here for, like, three hours" Said Alex "Yup" "We almost sang to Julie's little brother" "He comes in here a lot, mainly to use the bathroom" "Yeah, it's not our favorite part of the day" "But... Julie, it wasn't okay that we flaked on the dance last night, we know we let you down... Someone made me understand this very well" Said Luke looking at y/n "Yeah and none of us wanted to disappoint you. Girls, you are the best thing that's happened to us since we became ghosts" "Sooo... In hopes that you'll rejoin the band, we booked a new gig" Julie looked at the paper sheet. "So, this means a lot to you, uh?" They nodded. "Kind of how playing in front of my whole entire school meant a lot to me" "It's sarcasm? I'm starting to think our plan isn't working" Said Reggie Y/n put a hand on her face. "Look, we know we messed up" "But we need you in the band" "Yeah, because without me, no one can see you play" The boys looked at the ground. "C'mon y/n, let's go" Said Julie grabbing her wrist.
Luke looked up and appeared in front of y/n. "Wait... Uhm, can we talk?" "We have nothing to talk about" "Yes... About yesterday, I was a completely idiot and I'm sorry... And also I wanted to talk about us..." Said scratching the back of his neck. "There is nothing about us" Said without thinking. Both were perplexed by those words and she felt really sorry. "I mean... Luke" "No, it's okay, you are right" Said disappearing. Y/n looked at Julie sadly, as the mark hurt again. Julie looked at her wrist. "Y/n, blood is coming out, how is that possible?" The boys looked at her. "Willie told us that your mark shows you your real love, but what if the person you love hurt you?" Said Alex "What?" "Yeah, if you and your soulmate are connected, that means you get hurt if he hurt you, or something like that" "It makes sense" Said Julie "We don't know if Luke is really my soulmate" Julie looked at her. "Really? You need more pain to understand it?" "Okay, maybe Luke is the reason" "But where did he go?" She looked at the boys. "Maybe I know..."
Julie was in her bathroom with y/n. She took a gauze and put in on her wound. "Are you ok?" Y/n nodded. "I think... I have to go to Luke. I was mad at him and I said terrible things. I'm so sorry" Julie nodded. "Don't worry, he will forgive you" "Really?" "Yep" "Listen, Julie. The boys are really sorry, they did all this because Trevor stole their songs. Luke left his parents and wanted to show them that he could do it, but you know, he died and they never knew it" "Oh, I didn't know it..." "Don't worry, I know you will do the right thing" Y/n smiled and hugged her friend.
