Today (December 12) is Kota Izumi's birthday, so I figured I would do a short headcanon to celebrate! Btw, this takes place after the events of this story. It's my first headcanon ever, so I hope you enjoy!

Word count: 470

- Kota is late to school on his birthday, as his aunt just wouldn't let him go without taking a million pictures

- when finally he gets there, the classroom is completely dark and he has to double check his schedule to make sure he's in the right place

- suddenly, the lights fly on and all of his classmates and Mr. Kaminari jump up screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, IZUMI!!!!!"

- he's shooketh but takes it in stride, thanking them and trying to hide the aggressive blush that was making its way onto his face

- the first person to greet him personally is Sokudo, followed by Shimizu, Hiku, and Kokyu.

- Sokudo is only there first because he used his quirk

- Mr. Kaminari exclaims that "we're gonna have a party today instead of class!" to which everyone cheers, though a few are disappointed that they're gonna have more homework that night in order to catch up

- everyone reveals the table in the back of the class that's covered in bowls of snacks, desserts, and drinks, along with a homemade birthday cake courtesy of Torredo

- Mr. Kaminari hands out little blue confetti cannons to everyone (because of Kota's quirk) and they make him stand in the middle of the class as they light the candles and bring the cake to him

- when he blows out the candle, they all cheer and pull their cannons, sending blue confetti flying right on top of Kota

- after this, turns out that everyone had made a little gift to give to him, and they went around in a circle, bringing their presents to him

- this whole time, Kota is very self conscious, but his heart warms at the thought of his class doing this much for him

- when it's Eri's turn to give him her present, her cheeks are bright pink

- he straightens up a bit when she comes closer

- (his friends definitely notice)

- she shyly holds out a small sky blue box tied neatly with a little red ribbon, wishing him a happy birthday

- he opens the box to see a keychain with a small pair of homemade clay red running shoes attached to it

- Kota looks up at her with wide eyes, as both of them know what the red shoes symbolize

- she smiles at him, her cheeks growing a deeper shade of pink

- "do you like it?" she asks

- "I-um, yeah, I do. A lot," he says honestly

- her face turns to one of relief. "Good. Happy birthday, Kota."

- he didn't realize until later that his face was just as red as hers.

- best birthday ever
