CATACLYSM ☽☾ "ROGUE ONE"
FEAR IS the one thing in life that can shatter everything. It is what can cause the fall of even the strongest of beings. The Rebellion may seem fearless out on the battlefront but it is quite the opposite. The Empire hangs above it like a shadow and no soldier leaves the base with the promise to see another day. Everyone within the fighting corps of the Rebellion goes out on missions expecting to die. The threat lingered to the political aspects of the Alliance as well, although they had an extremely higher chance of seeing a tomorrow. But now with this planet killer, the aspect of death is all the more real. And Amara was not the least bit surprised at how they were taking the news.
"We must scatter the fleet." One of the senators, Tynnra Pamlo argued. "We have no recourse but to surrender."
"Are we really talking about disbanding something that we've worked so hard to create?" Senator Organa questioned.
"We can't just give in." Admiral Raddus spoke, agreeing to Bail's words.
"We joined an alliance, not a suicide pact." Another senator argued.
"If I may." Amara interrupted as she stepped out from behind Senator Organa and resided within the open space beside him. She rested her hands on the edge of the table they all stood around before saying, "One could argue the decision to link arms with the Alliance and a suicide pact are one in the same." murmers erupted within the crowd that had formed around them, some agreeing with Amara and others disagreeing. "There are people here on this base who risk their lives everyday for this cause and unlike you, senator, they are not guaranteed another day alive."
"Commander Vell has a point. We've only now managed to gather our forces..." Senator Organa began only to be interrupted by another senator by the name of Nower Jebel.
"Gather our forces?" He questioned. "General Draven's already blown up an Imperial base." He accused as he pointed a finger to the General.
"A decision needed to be made!" The General defended himself.
"If it's war you want you'll fight alone." Senator Pamlo declared.
"If that's how it's going, why have an alliance at all?" Another senator argued.
"If she's telling the truth," Admiral Raddus gestured to Jyn. "We need to act now!"
"Councilors, please." Senator Mothma interrupted in hopes to dissolve the feud that had taken control of the meeting.
"It is simple." General Merrick said. "The Empire has the means of mass destruction the Rebellion does not."
"A Death Star." Senator Jebel scoffed. "That is nonsense."
