Your POV~

I sigh softly as I stare at my blank canvas. I didn't know what to paint, but it didn't ever seem to matter since I couldn't see the colors. "Having trouble figuring out what to paint?" I look over at my best friend Mahiru. "Yeah. I wish I could see the colors I'm using, but it's all different shades of black, white, and gray. Yet I somehow paint masterpieces." I tried to stay calm as I look back at my blank canvas. "I understand how you feel, but I'm sure you'll find your soulmate soon." I softly sigh as I stand up. "I'm going to walk around to clear my head." I walked out of the art room before Mahiru could say anything.

"It's a good thing that I have free period right now or I'd be in so much trouble for walking around." I mumble as I walk around the school. Yet nothing sparked any creativity. "Hey! Stop laughing! This isn't funny!" I stop walking as I look in the direction of the voice. I see some boys gathered together near the track field. Some of them were laughing at the one that had yelled. I walk towards them to hear what the were talking about. "S-Sorry Kazuichi, but that plan of yours won't work." I kind of just stand near the small group, but don't seem to notice. "Shut up Hajime! I'm sure it will work and Miss Sonia will be my soulmate!" I tilt my head in confusion. "I think Sonia's soulmate is Gundham." My words gain the attention of the boys. "Who the hell are you?" I open my mouth to speak, but I'm interrupted. "That doesn't matter! I need to know if Miss Sonia is really Gundham's soulmate!" I roll my eyes as I cross my arms. "What's so great about Sonia anyways?" I mumble as I look away from the pink haired boy who kept going on about Sonia. "I really think you need to stop obsessing over Sonia. If you do you'll end up heartbroken." Hajime says hoping his friend actually listens. "Hajime he's not going to listen. He's a hopeless case." A red haired boy said. "I agree with Leon. Kazuichi is definitely a lost cause." Mondo says as he crosses his arms. I knew him simply because he's the Ultimate Gang Leader. "Do you guys not really have faith in me?" Kazuichi asks, which earns many different forms of no. I look at him and see a sad look on his face. I sigh softly as I turn around about to leave. "I'll go find out if Sonia knows who her soulmate is." I feel arms wrap around my body, hugging me. Just as that happens the world is full of color. I quickly pull away and run off before whoever hugged me could say anything or realize that we are soulmate.

I kept running down the halls of the school until I was sure I was far enough from the group of boys. I stop running and lean against a wall to catch my breath. "(Y/n)?" I look over at Sonia, knowing it was her who said my name. "Hey Sonia." She looked at me confused. "Is everything okay? You're out of breath and look shaken up." I softly chuckle as I close my eyes. "I just met my soulmate, but I have no clue who they are because I wasn't facing him." I heard a gasp come from Sonia before she pulls me into a hug. "Congratulations (Y/n)!" I open my eyes as I hesitantly hug Sonia back. We weren't really friends, mainly because I'm jealous of the attention she gets from guys even though it's clear she only likes Gundham. Yet she still treats me like we've been friends for years. "Now let's go back to the group so you can find out which one is your soulmate!" She says as we stop hugging. "No way! I can't!" She tilts her head in confusion. "Why not? Don't you want to be happy with your soulmate like everyone else?" I look down at the floor. "I do, but what if he doesn't want me to be his soulmate?" I tried to keep from getting emotional, but this whole soulmate thing scares me. She gently places a hand on my shoulder. "Alright (Y/n), we don't have to go find your soulmate. Just know I'm here for you if you ever need to talk." I look at Sonia and softly smile. "Thank you Sonia." She smiles at me before we go our separate ways.

~Time Skip~

It's been almost two weeks since I've started seeing color. It was so weird, but it is nice. Now with being able to see color I could make paintings whatever colors I wanted. Though recently I've only been making paints with shades of blues, grays and black. "(Y/n), I don't want to question your art, but why are you making such sad paintings?" I look at Mahiru as we sit in class waiting for the teacher to arrive. "I guess it's how I've been feeling recently." She stands up and slams her hands on my desk. This gained the attention of the whole class, but Mahiru didn't care. "(Y/n) you need to find your soulmate! Ever since you started seeing color you've been sulky and it worries me! You can't keep running away whenever something new happens! Especially when it comes to your soulmate!" I looked down at my desk, hoping Mahiru would stop shouting so everyone would stop staring. Luckily she did, but only when Hiyoko distracted her with something else.

I rest my head on my desk as I let Mahiru's words sink in. She's right, but it's not like I'm actively avoiding my soulmate. I did ask the group of boys from that day about it. Most of them answered my question about the whole situation, but only Kazuichi and Hajime have been avoiding properly answering me. Hajime and I are awkward whenever we're around each other, while Kazuichi just avoids me as much as possible. It's almost like he hates me. I'm pulled out of my thoughts by some footsteps. I turn my head to see who was standing by my desk. I sit up as I'm surprised to see Kazuichi standing there. "Kazuichi? Do you need something?" He avoided looking at me as his face became red. I just stared at him confused. Before I could say anything his head was beside mine. "Meet me outside of the gym after class." He whispers in my ear before returning to his seat. I hadn't even noticed my cheeks were warm from the closeness. My heart was racing and I couldn't focus on anything. The teacher entered the room and started class. My mind was racing all throughout class, but it didn't seem like anyone noticed.

After class I went straight to where Kazuichi wanted to meet. My heart and mind were still racing as I tried to figure out why he wanted to meet me outside of the gym. "You're here good." I look at Kazuichi as he approaches me. "What is it you wanted?" Just as those words escaped my lips I was practically pinned to the wall. I gasp in surprise at the sudden action. He rests his forehead on mine as we lock eyes. "I want you. I was in denial about us, but the more I avoided you the more I longed to be by your side. I'm sorry that I avoided you." His voice was soft while speaking it made my heart race, though it never felt like it stopped. "You're not entirely at fault. I avoided knowing the truth after I ran from you. I was scared, but that night I knew I had to figure out who let me finally see color." I admit to him. "Well that's all in the past. Now let's focus on the future." Before I could respond he kisses me on the lips. I was caught off guard by the kiss, but definitely returned it. The moment between us was perfect, at least until we heard a camera going off multiple times. We pulled apart from each other to see Mahiru taking pictures of us. I blush bright red as I buried my face into Kazuichi's chest. I'll definitely have to steal Mahiru's camera later to get rid of those pictures she just took.
