Day 2 at 6 AM
Luke's POV
Ughhhhhhh! Why do we have to wake up so early? Yesterday at least Mom gave me a few minutes to get up. Today I don't even get 1! Yesterday was so boring. I was hoping someone would notice me( a certain someone being Dad and Mom), but they were too busy with Alex Parrish and some brunette girl. I stare across the room at my roommate. Leo. Some nerd who is too busy reading to even notice me. Day 2 and I am already miserable. I force myself out of bed to take a shower since Leo is too busy rereading the FBI Junior Agents handbook.
Once I get out of the shower, I change into my uniform. Light blue T-shirt with cream pants. I decide to go on my phone. I feel jealous of the fact that my friends are all having fun together where I am stuck at Spy School where nobody even notices me. I look at the clock and see that I have 20 minutes till class. I decide to watch some TikToks in the meantime.
Mia's POV:
My alarm clock rings. I barely slept. I looked at the time and decided to wake Anja up.
"Anja! Wake up!" I whisper yell into her ear.
"Ugh! I am up," she says annoyed at me.
" I am going to take a shower while you go open up your eyes, sleepyhead!" I exclaim. I run to the bathroom and Anja falls back asleep. It's 6:34 when I get out.
"Anja! I told you to get up!" I say.
"Fine, I really am awake," she says and then looks at me. "Oh wow! You are already dressed! You are making us look bad."
"And your making it easy."
Anja scrambles into the shower, while I go to see Mom. I navigate my way to her room and knock on her door. I hear laughter from inside and smile to myself. Clay opens the door. He wasn't there at dinner so he didn't see me yesterday.
"Oh hi. Trainee dorms are the other way." he says to me.
"I know. I just wanted to meet someone," I say hoping he would just let me in, but he didn't.
"Who?" he asks suspiciously.
"Alex Parrish." I say, wondering if that came out more as a question than statement.
"Why?"
"Just let me in and stop asking questions," clenching through my teeth.
"Oh, hi Mia!" Mom says while giving me a hug.
I see all the instructors inside so it feels weird, but I don't stop her.
"Clay, this is my daughter Mia."
"Oh hi! Sorry about the questions I was asking. I didn't know that you were her daughter."
"It's ok." I say. Then the staring starts again.
"Hi, I am Owen Hall. I don't think we have met in person."
"Nice to meet you," I say. What I really wanted to say was "I think we established that yesterday and why do you all keep staring at me?" but I don't say that. "Uhh, I should get going. I will talk to you later Mom. Bye." I say rushing out.
"Bye? What's up with her?" Alex says.
"Well she is your daughter so she probably is as crazy as you are," Caleb responds.
Alex picks up a pencil and throws it at him missing by 20 feet deliberately.
I walk down the corridor back to my room. The time was 6:50. Anja was looking at the map so she could find her way to the classroom.
"Mia! I am going to go now so I can be there on time," Anja says while grabbing her bag to leave.
"Ok." I say.
As soon as she leaves I take a deep breath. I remember about the picture in my bag and take it out. I was right. Ryan was the same person as the photo. I had absolutely no idea about how Mom and Ryan were linked but I had to find. I looked at the time and decided to leave for class. I make sure to hide the photo so no one sees it.
