Investigation Assignment
7:35 A.M

Mia's POV:

"Ugh! I hate this!" Anja exclaimed.
"Stop being such a grumpy cat and just focus on it. You barely started reading Leo's file." I said.
"Leo has such an easy person!"
"Who?" I ask.
"Me! I am such an easy person. I am practically an open book."
"Well I have Luke, Leo's roommate."
"Wow! The top 2 chose each other's file. Find out anything about him?"
"No, I have not even started reading it."
"You're one to talk to. You are telling me to do my work, when you haven't started."
"Well if you stop being such a grouch maybe I could start reading." I say, starting get a teensy bit annoyed. Anja got the message and stopped talking.
I opened Luke's file. Luke Booth. That was his full name. Son of Ryan Booth and Shelby Wyatt. Wait a minute! I flipped to the last page where they put pictures of him. I saw one of his and his parents. He is Special Agent Ryan's son. I realized that if I wanted to know anything about he and Mom, Luke would be the answer.
Come on Mia! You are getting distracted. Just focus on the assignment that you received!
I started reading more of the file. Born on the 27th of April, 2024. His strengths are that he is persistent, hard working, computer genius.
Well if he is such a genius, why be a special agent and not an analyst?
I continued reading. His weaknesses were that he was not very social, not that physical, emotional, and has Hoplophobia.
What is he doing here if he has Hoplophobia ( fear of firearms)?!!
I finished reading the file and found nothing missing.
"You are now allowed to complain Anja because I completely agree with you!" I say, feeling frustrated.
"What's up with you?" she asked.
"The fact that Luke is a complete NERD! I mean why be a special agent when he isn't very physical, not social, and afraid of firearms! Plus he has no secrets. I am thinking about just going through his parents Instagram accounts to see if I can find something. How's your investigation with Leo?"
"Ehh, okay. Leo is a complete nerd too. He spends his whole day reading."
"Check Instagram. He might have posted something personal on it which wasn't on the file." I suggest.
I open it up and search Ryan Booth. I scroll back to 2024. Then I work my way up the posts. Ryan barely posted pictures so it made it kind of easy. I click on 1 post from 2032. It's of Shelby, Ryan, Luke, and a toddler. I read the caption , "I miss you, buddy! You will always be my hero. I bet you are watching us from the heavens, Adam. Love from Dad, Mom, and Lukie."
"Hey Anja!"
"Yeah?"
"Can you give me your phone. I think I found something, but I don't want to lose the post."
"Sure." She hands me her phone.
I go onto Google and search up Adam Booth. The first link that shows up is if the Children's Hospital of LA. Luke lived in Hawthorne, CA so it made sense. I clicked on it. I saw the same toddler's image on it as well as a bunch of data about him.

His file said nothing about have a sibling, alive or deceased. I felt bad for him. Sure I was an only child, but I have also lost someone close to me and it was hard. I delete part of Anja's search history, the part that I searched up. I handed her back her phone and looked at the time. 8:12.
"You finished already?"
"Yeah. I guess Luke wasn't that hard once you knew where to look."
"I don't know where I should look! Help me Mia!"
"Look, I can't help you. I don't know a thing about Leo. Try and find an aspect where there isn't a lot of information on him, like I couldn't find much about Luke's family."
Someone knocks on the door and I go open it. It's Danity, Lola, and Liv.
"Hey guys!" I say to them.
"Hi. Did you guys finish?" Danity asks.
"So you guys are also done?" Anja asks, feeling like a failure.
"No. Just Danity," says Lola.
"Mia is done too. How did you two finish so quickly?" Anja asks.
"Well, find something which you don't know a lot about. For me it was Sasha's personal relationships." Danity says.
" Me too. It was about Luke's family. I think all of these have something to do with our family relationships." I say.
"So what you are saying is that the FBI is revealing our personal secrets. That is kind of mean." Liv says.
"Well it's FBI. We can't keep secrets from each other. We also can't let our secrets take the better of us, so they are having us face them." Danity claims.
I gulp. I start to internally panic, knowing that the FBI knew my personal secret and if Luke finds it, everyone would know. Sure, it wasn't as bad as Mom's when she came to Quantico, but still it was something no one had mentioned to either of us in 2 years.
"Well, I think we should get back to work since we have PT in 1 hour 40 minutes," says Anja.
"Good luck," I say to Liv and Lola.
"Thanks," they reply back.
I shut the door.
"Wonder what secrets the FBI will reveal about us?" Anja asks.
"I think I already know what it is and I feel sick to my stomach about it."
"Don't  worry about it Mia!"
I give her a small smile, but I wonder if I really mean it. I close Luke's file and put it on my table. I decide to go read a book till PT, but first I save the Instagram post on my phone. I take deep breaths and try not to think about the assignment.
