The Protector (sokka x reader)

Sokka's Forest Vision

We finally made it somewhere where we could rest and get some sleep. the past few days have been exhausting, so all i wanted to do today was chill. we were all fast asleep but then aang jumped up abs shouted

"today's the day!!"

he landed near sokka and continued to shout.

"can you believe it? after all that time searching for a teacher, i'm finally starting earth bending! and this place, it's perfect don't you think sokka?"

sokka grumbled

"oh you're sleeping huh?"

sokka grumbled again

"aang for the love of god please shhh" i say with my head in my sleeping bag
"sorry"

the ground started shaking and a huge dust cloud formed about 10 feet away and when it cleared toph was standing there.

i always forget that toph loves to wake up early when it meant she gets to kick someone's ass

"goooooooood morning earth bending student!"

by now i was awake and sitting up in my sleeping bag watching the action

toph walked over to us

"good morning sifu toph" aang said while bowing
"hey you never called me sifu katara"

aang scratched the back of his neck "well, if you think i should..."

sokka suddenly sat up grumbling at aang and toph had a smile on her face.

i walked over to a wall of rocks and sat down and leaned against it. i practiced with my knife by practicing moving it throughout my two hands. i practiced switching it between my hands without the opponent seeing it.

i stood up and threw a rock up and closed my eyes and when i felt the rock pass my face i swiped my knife and the rock split in half. i heard someone walking up behind me and i quickly took my sword out and swiped it and held it at the person's throat. their arms immediately shot up.

"it's just me."

i took a second look at the person and it was sokka

"oh sorry."

i pulled my sword back and put it in its holder. i relaxed my stance.

"what's up sokka."
"what were you doing?"
"training."
"but you're already a great warrior"
"how do you know you've barely seen me fight?"
"oh um just assuming."

he sheepishly rubbed his neck

"so you know how i saw a vision of you in that forest?"
"yea."
"well-

flashback: sokka's pov (the swamp)
a/n: imagine sokka is telling you this and he's like narrating it.

i was lost in the swamp and i had my machete raised in the air.

"aang!"

i continued slashing at the vines

"stupid swamp! dumb, ugly vines! katara!"

i got caught in the vines but soon sliced myself free

"you think you're so tough, huh?"

i continue to get tangled and i was getting frustrated. i fell into the mud face first and when i lifted my head i saw my ex girlfriend yue and when i got up and walked towards her she disappeared.
