Chapter 19: Never give up

My mind went blank, I could feel my body numb from the pain. 

 'come on, let's play!' i heard my brother giggle happily while pulling me to the garden. This was a flashback to when everything was perfect, to when I believed that my parents really loved me.  

'get up, stop sulking' i heard my brother say while pulling me up from the ground after I lost in a game with him.  

'You will fail, but never give up' he said smiling sweetly.  

Suddenly reality hit me, I opened my eyes to see Enola wounded badly and Tewksbury getting kicked. Linthorn aimed his gun to Tewksbury when I instinctively pulled the man's leg and pushed him down forcefully. His head hit a sharp object and he fell unconscious. 

"Are you ok?" I asked Tewksbury  

"yeah...you were amazing!" he said while staring deeply into my eyes 

"You are quite the fighter y/n" Enola proudly said. 

"did you hear that?" I said referring to the tapping sound which got louder by each passing second

"grandmother?" Tewksbury said in disbelief 

"yes, I'm afraid so" said the old woman with a walking stick.  

"It seems if you want a job done, you should do it yourself," the woman said walking to us, rather briskly for her age
