Before Chapter Notes:

*This chapter is mainly for lore-building stuff, so warning: Dialogue, and lots of it.

*Now, for anyone here who may be some kind of anime-only fan (or at least more familiar with the anime than the games), I'd like to clarify that the game version of Meta Knight is pretty well known for how... ambiguous he is in his debut game, Kirby's Adventure (and, by extension, its remake, Nightmare in Dream Land). He seems to both help and harm Kirby throughout the game. The way I portray him here is in a way that I believe makes sense when you take into account his personality and the events of certain games, though I hope you'll keep in mind the note I made about headcanons at the beginning of this fic.

*Game Meta Knight's wings are a bit of a complicated story. Some games show his cape turning into wings (like in the Super Smash Bros. series), others portray it as his wings fitting under his cape somehow (like with Return to Dream Land). I went with the latter since that's what I actually headcanon.

"Ok, so, I think you guys got off on a rough start. How about you guys try to be friends?"

G. Kirby wanted to set things right. The day he came to the A-verse, G. Meta Knight and A. Meta Knight immediately started fighting due to a misunderstanding. He didn't want that. Surely these two would become great friends if they got a moment to talk to each other, right? At the very least, it was worth a shot. G. Meta Knight grumbled.

"Kirby, you know I live a very busy life," he said in an annoyed tone, "how am I supposed to fulfill my duties if I'm goofing off over here!?"

"I'll do them for you!" Kirby said in response. "But I'm taking the portal gun with me! I'll be back later!"

"Wait, Kirby, stop-"

It was too late. G. Kirby left before G. Meta Knight could grab him. He was now locked in a room with the guy he had fought a few days ago. His experience with other versions of himself hadn't been good (Dark Meta Knight being the prime example), so he set his expectations as low as possible for how this'd turn out.

And it just had to be a closet. Of course.

A closet with no chairs; just miscellaneous cleaning supplies.

G. sighed. Maybe he could just stay silent the entire time instead?

However, this plan came crashing down as soon as A. tried to start a conversation.

"I might as well ask since I've been wondering, who exactly was that 'Susie' who was with you on that day?"

"Ugh, d-don't remind me. I would've come by myself if she didn't have the only means of getting here. Our Kirby wouldn't have gotten sent here in the first place if she hadn't used him as her little test subject."

"...you don't seem very fond of her..."

"Well, duh. She's done sick things... th-things that I'd rather not think about..."

No matter what, the "Mecha Knight Incident" (as Kirby had started calling it) still stuck with G., and likely would stick with him forever. Even though most of his memories from during the incident were very hazy, he still... knew what she did. The lingering taste of metal in his mouth from after the incident made it obvious... even more obvious than it would've been otherwise, as she didn't seem to care about hiding it: Mechanization; Basically, turning someone into a robot. It was more complicated than that, but that was the gist of things. G. hadn't been the only victim of this. For example, Whispy Woods had been put through the same thing.
