(Before chapter note: while in the future I'm going to have the game cast be more active in anime plots, I'm currently still establishing things in this book so I haven't yet. Plus, I need to find an episode plot that'll be interesting if the game characters are factored in. So, sadly, anime Knuckle Joe doesn't appear in this chapter... I'm probably gonna put him somewhere in the story in the future, but not in this chapter, I'm afraid)
(Oh yeah, also, a note about the narration: Since it's limited third person but changes who it's "following," if the character that's currently being "followed" doesn't know another character's name, even if the name has already been revealed for another character, the narration, while following said character who doesn't know the other's name, won't know either, basically. Just wanted to note that in case anyone gets confused about something with Escargoon later... You'll see)
(Finally: Don't worry, Tiff and the A-pals will get to see more of G-verse Dream Land soon [next episode, to be precise!)
----------
"S-Sorry I didn't come yesterday, Tiff!" G. Kirby said. "S-Something happened and-"
"It's all right!" Tiff said. "Besides, we were pretty busy yesterday too. It's a long story, though!"
Susie had lent G. Kirby the portal gun for the day (he promised not to break it, and she hoped he'd be able to keep that promise), mainly because he "asked really nicely" (as he put it, though Tiff wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he begged). In the A-verse, now, Tuff and A. Kirby were playing with a rubber ball (at least they weren't watching Channel DDD... though Tiff hoped he wouldn't end up mistaking Kirby for a ball again).
Something seemed a bit off about G. Kirby today. He was jumpy, and seemed quite tired. Those weren't the only things off about him, but they were the most notable. However, he started talking before Tiff could ask.
"Well, a-anyway, I have someone I'd like you to meet!" he said, before heading back into the portal to his world (he hadn't closed it yet).
"Guess I'll have to wait to tell him about the Knuckle Joe incident that happened yesterday," Tiff thought. Knuckle Joe becoming a monster hunter, aiming to take down N.M.E.'s strongest monsters (he had requested Masher, but, since Masher had already been defeated, he got sent this thing called Lobzilla instead), disguised as a monster manager, unleashing a horde of mini-monsters onto Cappy Town and Castle Dedede... combined with how both that day and the day before (after G. Kirby had left the A-verse) was spent cleaning up the damages from the Masher fight while explaining the situation to the rest of the town (plus her own parents, and Lololo and Lalala) (Mabel sure wasn't the most happy about how another universe's Kirby inhaled her crystal ball)... it was wild, weird, and everything in between.
Then suddenly, G. Kirby came back out, dragging by the arm probably the last person Tiff would expect.
While he did appear to be slightly visually different (mainly the lighter color palette and the addition of a tan kimono under his robe), she was still able to tell...
"So, pipsqueak, this is that other universe girl you told me about?"
This was the other Dedede. While his voice was shockingly different, and Tiff found it quite scary, it couldn't really be anyone else.
"Well... hey, I guess," G. Dedede said, "so Kirby told me your name's Tiff. Is that right?"
"...y-yeah..." Tiff replied, "s-so you're the other Dedede?"
"Well, who else would I be? A Waddle Dee?" he said with his arms crossed, rolling his eyes.
"No..." Tiff said. He didn't really seem nice, though Tiff supposed that she shouldn't expect kindness from a Dedede. However, if he really was G. Kirby's friend-
