Chapter 2: Homesick as Danger Brews

G. Kirby had run right into this world's King Dedede, knocking both of them back onto their backs.... Leaving a very confused purple snail he had never seen before as the only one still on his "feet." The two got back up on their feet quickly... and Dedede seemed... mad.

"Oh! S-Sorry!" G. Kirby said... much to the surprise of Dedede. Looking at him more, he didn't seem... exactly the same as the one G. Kirby was familiar with. Mainly, he had a darker color palette and wasn't wearing a kimono.

"W-Wait, d-did that there Kirby just... talk?!" He asked, seeming a mix of surprised and even terrified.

"S-Seems so, sire," the snail told him.

"Oh, right! I-" G. Kirby started before being interrupted by the sound of Tiff yelling at him as she, Tuff, and A. Kirby ran in.

"Oh no!!" she yelled. Dedede and Escargoon, bewildered, looked back and forth at the two Kirbies in confusion.

"What in tarnation is goin' on!?" Dedede asked.

"*sigh* This is Kirby from another dimension. All you need to know is that one of his friends is coming to take him home... but we don't know when she'll get here," Tiff said. She didn't really want to have to deal with Dedede's antics before then. After all, what if this other Kirby got hurt?

"A-And ya think I'm gonna put up with two puffballs 'til then!?!"

"...why do you sound so mad about that?" G. Kirby asked. Escargoon snickered.

"Looks like the other Kirby thinks you like him, sire," he said. Dedede's first response, after a few seconds of silence, was to laugh hysterically.

"Wh-What's so funny?..." G. Kirby asked. "Dedede's one of my best friends... is it different here?"

"WH-WHAT!?!"

Everyone seemed taken aback by this (except A. Kirby, who likely didn't understand what was going on).

"Me, friends with... you!?!" Dedede said. "What kind of nonsense are you talkin' about!?!"

"I-It's the truth!!"

"Yeah, yeah, sure," the snail said.

"...who're you?" G. Kirby asked. He had never seen this snail before.

"...I'm Escargoon... the king's right hand man... sheesh, and you said you're friends with the king wherever you came from."

"I've never seen you before! It's just like with Tiff! Wow!"

"Whatever, ya pink pest, now GET OUT!!!" Dedede yelled, pointing... well, there was no door there, so just down the hallway toward the way that'd eventually lead him to exit the fastest.

"...I don't think I wanna," G. Kirby said... much to the surprise of everyone else. Dedede, fuming with rage, pulled out his hammer and was about to whack G. Kirby with it... when G. Kirby dodged with barely any problem.

"Wha-!?"

"Y'know, hammer attacks can be pretty easy to dodge, especially for someone who's fought people with hammers before like I have..."

"Why you little-"

A. Kirby seemed to enjoy watching his counterpart run circles around Dedede, until Dedede got dizzy and fell over. Tiff and Tuff laughed, and even Escargoon snickered.

"So, other Kirby, do you wanna meet some of the people in Cappy Town here?" Tiff asked.

"...Cappy Town?"

"...*sigh* You'll see."

G. Kirby declined to playing with the Cappy children (Iro, Spikehead, and Honey), but A. Kirby and Tuff were more than happy too. Tiff sat down and read, occasionally glancing up to make sure A. Kirby wasn't getting treated poorly. G. Kirby sat down next to her, humming a tune to himself. It sounded like a tune you'd hear in a video game. Tiff thought it sounded quite nice. She even found herself humming along to it after a while.
