Sickie: Seungmin

Caregiver: Hyunjin

Seungmin's POV.:
This year we were going to celebrate the first Christmas together since Hyunjin and I had gotten together. In fact, all Stray Kids were going to celebrate together. Since it was difficult for some to travel home to their families, we had decided against leaving anyone behind and instead stayed at the dorm together. In order to spend some romantic time together, Hyunjin and I had planned to go for a long walk around the neighborhood on Christmas morning. We wanted to look at all the pretty lights and decorations, holding each other's hand and just be a sappy couple for once. It being Christmas Eve, Chan and Felix were preparing dinner with the help of Minho and Changbin. We let them choose a meal they usually eat when at home with their families in hopes it would help them with their homesickness. The rest of us stayed clear of the kitchen. As we were unfamiliar with what they were planning to cook we weren't of much help and knowing how chaotic it is when Stay Kids cook it was probably better the less people were hanging around the cramped kitchen. I had been nursing a bit of a headache for most of the day, so I sought the quiet of my room to rest a bit before the others were calling for either dinner or fun group activities.

Hyunjin's POV.:
I had been hanging out with Jisung and Jeongin in the living room, listening to the bickering in the kitchen. Though the bickering was difficult to hear over Jisung's ridiculously loud performance of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas". While singing, the squirrel boy pair danced with Jeongin, pulling funny faces to mock cheesy k-drama couples. Speaking of couples, I haven't seen my boyfriend in quite a while now. Seungmin had been rather quiet all day, which made me kind of sad because I expected a little more excitement on our first Christmas together. Since I hadn't noticed him leaving the dorm, I guessed the younger was hiding away in our shared room. Frowning, I made my way to our room, determined to drag my boyfriend out to socialize. I don't want to sit there all alone when everyone else is having fun. I knew, I probably should be more worried about Seungmin but him avoiding me did hurt a bit. This wasn't what I imagined my first Christmas in a relationship would be like.

I also didn't expect to find my boyfriend curled up on top of my sheets, cuddling a hoodie I had left lying around somewhere. I silently closed the door behind me and approached the bed tiptoeing to not wake the seemingly asleep boy. Only upon closer inspection did I notice the tense look on Seungmin's face. Nobody looks that tense when they sleep. Sitting down on the edge of my bed, I carefully brushed the hair out of his face to get a better look, when he tiredly blinked up at me. "Hey puppy, I was looking for you. You had suddenly disappeared and I was lonely", I pouted. "Hmm, sorry babe", he hummed as he sat up, scrubbing his hands over his face, "They were just so loud." – "Is everything ok? You're usually just as loud", I frowned, shifting a bit, so I was sitting right next to my boyfriend, and guiding his head to rest on my shoulder. Not receiving a reply, I assumed the younger had fallen asleep on me and looked down to confirm. Apparently, he wasn't asleep, as his eyes were only half closed, mouth hanging slightly open. I studied Seungmin's face in confusion, before he quickly twisted to the other side, startling me with a sneeze. He sniffled a bit before laying his head back onto my shoulder. "Sorry", he hummed, closing his eyes, "I've just had a headache for the last few hours." I wrapped an arm around his shoulders, giving him a gentle comforting squeeze. "I hoped it would go away if I just rest a bit, so I can have fun with everyone later", he mumbled quietly, but I was still able to pit up on the slight waver in his voice. "It's ok, sweetie. I can just fetch you some painkillers, alright?", I shushed.

After Seungmin had given me a small nod as confirmation, I went to the bathroom to fetch him some medicine. When I went to the kitchen to also collect a bottle of water, I informed Chan about the situation but assured the leader that I had it handled for now. Seungmin was my boyfriend after all. I snuck back into our room, which was only dimly illuminated by some Christmas lights we had put up. They were enough however, to make the tear streaks on my lovely baby's face visible. Quickly dropping the water and medicine onto the nightstand, I wrapped my boyfriend in a tight embrace. Being this close, I could feel every hitch of his chest, as Seungmin tried to keep from sobbing. "Feeling this bad, Minnie?", I whispered sadly, petting his disheveled hair. To my surprise, he shook his head a little, clearing his throat before speaking up: "I-It's just, this is not how I wanted my first Christmas with you to be like", he confessed, voice hoarse from crying, "I wanted to have fun and be with you." – "Well, you are with me now. Let's get some medicine into you and then we'll see about you having fun later", I chuckled, handing him the pills, which he gratefully accepted and rinsed down with a few sips of water before cuddling back into me. However, I stopped him, almost causing more tears but I wanted Seungmin to rest properly, so I shifted into a lying position before opening my arms again.
