KotLC oneshots!

A KotLC New year!

A/N: Heyyy everyone!!! So the new year is just around the corner now everyone is making their new year resolutions {I know I am :)} and we are all itching for a new start! Anyway this oneshot the characters have defeated the Neverseen and Keefe is back! {If you haven't read UNLOCKED you won't understand the final part!} Anyway without further ado I present a KotLC New Year!

Sophie:

Here it was. For the first time since she had arrived at the lost cities, I was going to celebrate New year without forgetting it. But did the Elves celebrate? I blinked and when I opened them my eyes had mind had transported me back home:

"Sophie!!! Give me that cupcake!!"  7-year-old Amy whined.

"There are 20 more and you had to want the one I',m eating!"  10-year-old Sophie stuffed the pretty ice blue frosted cupcake into her mouth sticking her tongue out at her annoying sister. 

"Girls! Come on! The new year begins in a few  minutes which means-" Their dad waved his hands around to beckon them to continue his sentence, "Fresh starts..." The sisters rolled their eyes in annoyance. 

"You two and your squabbles..... Amy come help me with the final cupcakes!" Their mom called through a sigh. Sophie silently trudged up to her room and fished around her oak desk looking for her diary. Found you! She pulled it out and started scribbling down the act that Amy had just pulled. "Meowwww," Marty slunk towards her rubbing his face onto her short legs.  She glanced out her window sighing. "Marty, I don't want to get along with her. She's so feisty and rude."  She muttered staring at the twinkling stars. They say that your ancestors are up there watching you and guiding you just like they always have. "Is there somewhere I belong? Or will I remain the child prodigy forever?"

"SOPHIE COME ON THE FIREWORKS ARE STARTING!!!" Amy screeched excitement evident in her high pitched voice.

Sophie stumbled down the steps and towards the small backyard and just in time. Fiery reds and oranges and calming blues and lavenders painted the night sky giving the illusion of day. "WOW..." Sophie breathed the fireworks refracting in her exquisite eyes.

"This is so awesome..." Amy agreed under her breath. 

"Come on!! 10...9......8....7.....6......5.....4......!" All the neighbours even grumpy Mr Forkle had made their way to the backyard and started counting down till the new year!

"3...." Sophie's breath caught in her throat as the fireworks stopped.

"2...." A passing of silence.

"1!!!!" Fireworks erupted with the new year written in fire across the sky.

"Happy new year!!" The neighbours cheered.

"Happy new year mom, dad." The sisters hugged heir parents.

"Happy new year Sophie."

"Sophie..... Sophie!"

I peeled her eyes open to see all my friends all hovering over me. "What?" I mumbled. 

"You ok?" Biana asked. 
"Yeah, I was just.... remembering something."

"Remembering......" Keefe prodded.  I shifted uncomfortably under their piercing gazes.

"Remembering........ how I used to celebrate the new year back with humans." She relented. Her friends exchanged a glance and before Fitz piped up "How do they celebrate it?" Sophie told them everything from the yummy foods to any simple presents to the fireworks. After her explanation, they all shared a look before Biana exclaimed "Fitz! We have to go remember mom and dad wanted us for this boring ceremony or something like that right?" Her "Right" sounded like it had a hidden meaning realization dawned on Fitz's face as he nodded his head and said "Oh yeah we do. Sorry guys, catch you later!"
