Since Jade had to spend the entire day at the office and then in court, the girls stayed at the house with Sean and I. Now I moved slowly through the house calling out to them. Hide and seek. The game had been Sean's idea and it had been a good one. We were constantly trying to find ways to keep the girls occupied. Meg was out of town again and Sean had stayed with the girls while I ran to the casino to make sure things were running smoothly. Dinner had been served up and now we had spent the last couple of hours running through the house hiding from each other. I was already trying to figure out where we could put a daycare in our building so that Sean and I never had to worry about missing work.

I stopped outside a closed door when I heard soft whispers coming from inside. I waited a second before I yanked open the closet door and found the girls crouched behind all of the jackets.

"Found you," I said and they squealed. We laughed as they crawled from out of the closet. "Let's go find daddy Sean."

That got them really excited as we moved through the rest of the house in search of Sean. We found him hiding in the kitchen in the utility closet.

"What is with you and your daughter's and closets," I asked.

The girls wanted to start another round when the doorbell sounded. I opened the door and Jade stepped in looking around.

"Thank you for keeping them for me," she said.

"No problem."

The girls ran over and she knelt down to hug them before standing up.

"Hi, Sean."

Sean leaned against the back of the couch and looked at her. "Hey."

I looked between the two of them as they shared an uncomfortable look.

"So, when can I get a tour of this place?"

"How about right now?"

"I've got time."

Sean said he was going to straighten up. That confused me because with the two of us we managed to keep the girls entertained and keep the house clean. I shrugged it off and took Jade on a tour of the house. The girls trailed behind us. We stood at the back door looking out at the yard.

"This is a nice place," Jade said. "Lot's of space."

"Yeah. One of the reasons we liked it."

Jade took another moment and looked out at the yard before she turned around and headed back into the house.

"So, should I bring the girls over this weekend?"

"Yeah. Unless you need us to take them so you can work."

"I'll keep that in mind." She gathered up the girls and headed to the front door. I followed behind her. "Bye, Sean."

Sean walked over and gave the girl's a kiss. He looked at Jade before turning and plopping on the sofa. "See ya later."

Jade bit her lip and left the house. I followed her and helped her get the girls into their car seats. I stood on the porch until Jade pulled out of the driveway and down the street. I turned and went inside.

"What was that about?"

"What are you talking about?" Sean asked.

"I'm talking about the cold shoulder you gave Jade. What's going on?"

"Nothing. I'm giving her what she wants," he smirked.

"What's really going on?"

"I don't think Jade really knows what she wants."

"Elaborate."

"She wants to just be co-parents and nothing else."

"Yeah."

"Notice how disappointed she looks every time I don't throw myself at her?"

I had noticed. It had been the same way when she had picked the girls up the other day. It was like she was expecting something but was sad that she didn't get it.

"So what is this? Reverse psychology?"

"Not at all. I'm just going to let her make up her mind and decide what she really wants." Sean shrugged.

It seemed like a good plan except, I wondered if it would backfire. What if Sean giving her what she said she wanted, made her open to other possibilities. She had already gone on two dates that we knew of. What if she started dating more?
