I - Answering some (Important) questions

     Hey guys, gals, and non-binary pals, it's A Whole Person here.

     I'm here to answer some questions you may have.

Also, any chapter marked with Roman numerals instead of numbers contains cannon information, but isn't directly a story chapter (though it may have been caused by the story in some way, say, falling off a bridge.)

     (This is being written around part 55, so keep all this in mind for the future.)

Question: Why is this story so dark and depressing?

Answer: This is only one book out of the five (three, with two spin-offs) book story I want to tell, so I need to get most of the dark and depressing backstories, tendencies, character traits, etc. out of the way in this book, so that I can focus on the more positive stuff later. So please, bear with it now, I promise that the characters will get their happy ending. (This is a pacifist run, after all)

Question: It's 2021, Undertale is irrelevant and dead.

Answer: First off, that's a statement, not a question. And secondly, Undertale is not dead. As of right now, Deltarune Chapter 2 is being worked on at the moment, and the Undertale community is still standing strong. The original game has a special place in my heart, and I want to pay it tribute.

Although the main plot for the first book isn't mine (Credit to the Undertale team), I did adapt it to fit the story I want to tell. Plus, you haven't read the next 4 books yet, and those stories are all my own.

Question: Why Charisk? There are plenty better ships to write about.

Answer: Charisk is OTP, don't @ me. Also his name is pronounced Car-uh. Not Care-uh, or Char-uh. It's Car-uh. And his full name is pronounced Car-uh-lie-n. I'm sorry if that isn't how you were pronouncing it in your head, but that is the cannon pronunciation for his name in this book. 🤷‍♂️

Question: Why do you use time skips a lot? One chapter, we are with Frisk on a boat, and the next, sans is having an existential crisis.

Answer: It's just my writing style. I like to write stories that jump around a lot, that don't give you all of the information all at once, but slowly stream it through a sieve. I like writing stories with twists and turns that keep you guessing. This AU (alternate universe) I've built is deep, and very lore filled. And it wouldn't be fair to the story if I gave you everything all at once. Just keep reading, it will all make sense.

Question: What's up with the irregular upload times?

Answer: ADHD. You can't expect me to be a machine pumping out 1600+ word Chapters weekly (well, you can, but you will be disappointed.) I got school, my career, and other hobbies I have and genuinely enjoy doing.

Question: Why are there so many plot holes?

Answer: There are two possibilities. Either you skipped a chapter or two. Or I went back and changed some of the earlier chapters (Which I am known to do from time to time). If you are confused about something, go back a few chapters like I always do.

Question: What do you mean 'Non-binary pals'? Those people don't exist.

Answer: Read a gender studies textbook. And if you really are that way, you are going to hate one of the important characters later.

Question: What's with the weird writing style

Answer: Well, this story was meant to be told in a comic format, but then I realized "I can't draw", and I like writing more anyway.
