Chapter 7

Brian smirked.

This guy is insane! Thought Alyx, Um what do I do?

Alyx gave him her best glare she could, "Even if you do, I don't, plus you are someone that no one would not like if they got to know you!"

Brian just laughed. "Do you think a person like me would show my true self to just anyone? Listen here, Alyx, consider yourself lucky when I say that you're the only one who I show my true colors."

Alyx gave him another hard stare before stomping out the door.

Brian stayed where he was. Knowing this, as Alyx closed the door, Alyx let out an uneven sigh and wept for a minute before going on to the cafeteria.

Just like I said, everything that I touch eventually turns to dust!

A tear trickled down her cheek.

"Alyx? Are you okay?"

Alyx looked up to see Adam.

"Yeah! I'm fine! Just something in my eye," said Alyx, wiping away her tears.

Alyx had felt this feeling many times before, but for some reason, this time it felt a bit better than usual.

Science class had come, Alyx's favorite subject. Science had always had a soothing feel to Alyx. Just thinking about what happens when a ball falls was relaxing for her. She didn't know why. Whenever she was doing science-related things, she was able to forget about what had happened, even if it was someone who was a total jerk to her. She just let herself go.

What she was learning about at the moment was how the nervous system worked.

"Alyx?" Mr. Fern asked.

"Yeah?" she responded.

"May I see you after class?" he inquired.

"Yeah, sure!" Alyx said.

"Teacher's pet!" her classmates yelled.

Mr. Fern glared at them.

Alyx sat rather awkwardly at Mr. Fern's desk.

"Thank you for agreeing to talk with me, I was given special permission by the principal to be your counselor," Mr. Fern said.

This surprised Alyx, she had never had a counselor before.

"Oh! Um, okay," Alyx said.

"Okay! We'll start counseling tomorrow." Mr. Fern said.

"Okay!" Alyx said.

Alyx walked out the door.

"You get in trouble?" Adam asked, jumping out at her.

"Gosh, you scared me!" Alyx said, giving him a playful punch.

"Well, that is my job," Adam beamed.

"What are you guys doing?" Brian said.

Alyx and Adam jumped.

Man, this guy pops out of nowhere! Alyx thought.

Class went on and not much happened to Alyx.

This is an okay day in my book, of course minus the Brian part, but still, she thought.

Alyx opened the door to her home.

"I'm home!" Alyx yelled.

Her mom stumbled toward her.

"You-y-you fucking bitch!" her mom yelled at her.

Alyx jumped back.

What is going on?! she thought
