Beep! Beep! Beep!
Page groans and rolls over, “Ten more minutes!”
Someone shakes her shoulder, “Come on Page we have to go it’s almost six.”
Page sits up groggily. She rubs her eyes, “What time is it?”
“Five fifty-eight.” Crystal says in a panic. Page snaps immediately awake. She jumps out of bed, almost knocking Crystal over. She looks at Crystal’s jeans and purple t-shirt. Page slaps her forehead, she needs to change! Quickly Page pulls open her bag and grabs out her only other change of clothes; black jeans and a pink shirt with black stripes.
She considers going to the bathroom, but a look at the clock tells her she doesn’t have the time. So, she just starts changing into her clothes. At that moment Jane walks out of the bathroom and into the room. She throws her hands over her eyes, “Ah! My eyes!”
Crystal is looking away, she laughs, “Yeah, a little warning next time.”
“No time,” she says, “ ‘sides I’m done.” Page runs her fingers through her hair a few times before she feels satisfied with her look.
“Then let’s go!” Crystal exclaims. Without hesitation Page takes off with Crystal and Jane on her heels. Page doesn’t waste a moment; she literally jumps onto the stairs and takes two stairs at a time down the stairs. She stars panicking when she saw that there was no one in the lobby of the hotel.
Please please don’t let us be too late!
Page, Crystal, and Jane squeeze into one section of the revolving door and push. The door squeaks in protest, having never been pushed with so much force and so fast.
“No!” Page cries. Once she gets outside all she sees is the tail pipe of the grey bus driving away. Page could feel tears brimming on her eyes. She has missed her chance, now she will never be a bender.
“Hey! Are you coming?!” Page gasps. She turns around to see Demetri standing in the doorway of the last grey bus in the parking lot. She laughs and runs towards him.
“I told you I’d wait for you.” He says with a wink. Page just wants to cry out in happiness, but there’s no time for that, it’s time to go
“Come on.” She tells everyone, “Let’s go to camp!”
The bus erupts into cheers. She and Demetri gets on the bus and head to take a seat on a bench in the middle of the bus. As they walk they hear Mahoney call Crystal over and they pass Talula flirting with a shaggy haired sun kissed kid. They see Jane take a seat with someone at the front of the bus and begins talking to them.
Sonya stands up at the front of the bus, “Alright everyone, who’s ready to go Camp!?!” The whole bus erupts into cheers and clapping, “Ok, bus driver take up to Camp!”
Page turns to Demetri, “Did you really hold the bus for us?”
“Of course, like I told you last night; I would do anything to make your dream come true.” Demetri says with a smile. Heat rushes to Page’s cheeks, she thinks back to last night. Demetri and her sitting on the rooftop; talking, laughing, and hanging out.
Page looks up as loud laughter rang out above all the chaotic talking going on around her. A few seats up Page can just make out Crystal’s shortcut brown hair. It looks like she and Mahoney were both laughing and having a good time, it makes Page smile; she’s glad that they finally decided to get together. It is about time!
Suddenly the bus comes to a lurching stop. Like everyone else, Page looks around.
“Welcome to Camp everyone!” Sonya announces.
