'hey',
I said softly as Jo opened the door to the apartment, I looked up and Jo smiled at me,
'Your back',
Jo said inviting me in, I nodded my head,
'where is he?',
I asked wanting to know where my boyfriend, Jackson was, Jo pointed towards the kitchen. I slowly made my way out there keeping my head down not wanting to see everyone else's reaction to me being back. I opened the door still not looking up at my boyfriend, I heard a set of pans dropping to the sink which was slowly followed by footsteps. I finally looked up and saw my boyfriend,
'your back',
Jackson said softly, I nodded my head. Jackson walked closer towards me,
'y/n where did you go? nobody's seen you in days what happened?',
Jackson asked sounding extremely concerned, I took a deep breath he walked forward and grabbed a hold of my hands trying to encourage me to talk,
'I couldn't make it home that quickly so I ended up going back home to your family, I begged them not to tell you so don't get mad at any of them',
I said taking a seat on the closest seat. Jackson stayed standing looking down at me waiting for me to continue,
'I needed time to think about so much stuff that was going through my brain',
I said softly, Jackson squeezed my hands to encourage me,
'I uhm got some news a little while before I left',
I said tears forming in my eyes, Jackson immediately grew concerned,
'are you okay?',
Jackson asked kneeling to the ground thinking that there was something wrong with me, I softly smiled at him,
'yeah, yeah I'm fine. I got a letter saying I got a Residency placement at Mayo',
I said slowly looking at Jackson not sure if I wanted to see his reaction, he had a large smile on his face. He engulfed me in a hug,
'oh my god baby, I am so proud of you',
Jackson said pulling away, the smile on my face disappeared,
'what aren't you happy about it?',
Jackson asked rubbing his hands up and down my back,
'it's 43 hours away from- away from you',
I said as tears began to fall from my eyes again,
'y/n you are not turning down a placement from one of the top hospitals in the world for me',
Jackson said, I took a deep breath giving Noah an awkward smile,
'I did turn it down, that's why I needed to go away for a few days and think I had to make sure I actually wanted it and that I wasn't just giving it up for you but that I was giving it up for the right reasons',
I said finally letting out my breath which I didn't realize I was holding in, Jackson smile at me softly,
'why did you give it up?',
Jackson asked curiously, I smiled at him,
'This is where I want to be, with you and with all of our friends, you guys are like my second family, and there are so many more opportunities here for me',
I said beginning smile even largely at him, Jackson pulled me in extremely close he kissed the top of my head,
'what are you going to do with all your free time?',
Jackson said slightly laughing, I pulled away from him and he looked at me confused,
'I might have missed out a slight detail',
I said awkwardly smiling at him, he raised his eyebrows at me,
'and what might that be?',
Jackson asked, I smiled at him once again,
'I also got a residency placement at Grey Sloan that I decided to take',
I said hoping that Jackson would approve of my decision, he began to grin,
'how could you leave out that detail? I'm so proud of you baby!'.
