"Zar that's- no that's the Orion constellation! You haven't even learned that one?" Reg complained. Walburga had tasked him to teach me all of the constellations during this summer. I was kind of part of the family so it was a high time that I learned them. Turns out Reg isn't the most patient teacher.

"Ugh, can we just read some books... or listen to music. We've been practising constellations for ages," I growled frustratedly.

"Just a few more," Reg assured and adjusted his seat on my bed. I lied on my stomach and frowned upon the textbooks.

"This one?" Reg asked and pointed at one of the constellations. I knew this one.

"The leo constellation," I smiled and pointed at one of the stars inside the constellation; "this is the brightest star in the constellation, I believe it's called Regulus." I smirked at him.

"Good job, you've managed to remember at least one star out of all the constellations I've tried to teach you. Should I be flattered that it was the star I was named after," Reg teased me. I rolled my eyes and shifted my position so that I was laying on my back.

Regulus sighed and started shutting the textbooks. I lifted my head a little when he grabbed the one that was under my head. When I shifted I must have put my head on top of it.

"What book do you want to read?" Reg asked. I had hidden a bunch of muggle books that Lily and Remus had given me under my matress.

"Jane Eyre," I answered. He nodded and grabbed the book. He sat himself upright on the beds headboard and opened the book. I laid my head on his thigh and relaxed. This time I didn't need to ask him to read to me. He knew that was what I wanted without me saying it.

It was my birthday tomorrow. I'd turn 13. Reg turned 13 few months ago. I had suprised him by setting up safe fireworks inside his dorm room. When he opened his door they were set off and formed HAPPY BIRTHDAY REG. I was quite proud of myself for putting it all together. Sirius and James helped me get the fireworks and charm them to do what I wanted. Then I had to figure out the password to Reg's dorm room which wasn't that hard. That foolish boy named his password quidditch.

Birthdays were never a big deal in the Black house. Walburga would give one present and that would usually be something extremely sensible. Like a new robe.

I woke up at first light for my birthday. I opened my balcony doors to enjoy the crisp summer air. I dressed in my white lacey summer dress. If I were to ever look pretty it should be on my birthday right?

Things were changing. I was getting older and as such Walburga involved me more. She explained me my duties as a pureblood witch and how to act proper. She also gave me some insight on the changes in the wizarding world. Everything was about to change she had told me. No longer would we have to condone mudbloods in our midst. I had no idea what she meant by that but hadn't dared to ask her. It would be best not to let her know that my views regarding muggleborns had changed. Ever since I became friends with Lily, the discrimination against muggleborns made me confused. I didn't know what to think anymore.

I listened to some classical music and danced by myself on the light of the morning sun. I zoned out and missed the sound of knocking on my door. I was spinning around when I catched a glimpse of two boys.

"Reg! Sirius! What are you doing here?" I questioned out of breath.

"We made you breakfast. Happy birthday!" Sirius exclaimed and they both took baskets out from behind them. I gasped and looked at all the food they had collected in them.

"Thank you!" I marvelled at them. They set up everything down on the balcony and sat down with me. I took a hold of both of their hands and confessed emotionally; "thank you, not just for this... but for everything."

"Ahh.. let's not get emotional so Sirius's tears won't ruin our breakfast," Reg joked and drew a laugh from me and Sirius.

"I would do no such thing, I never cry!" Sirius complained.

"Oh you do too! When you start crying it's like waterfalls burst!" Reg insisted and I started laughing even harder. This was the best suprise birthday breakfast I could ever ask for. We ate and talked and it was wonderful.

After we finished, Sirius cleaned up and left downstairs taking the baskets with him.

"Such a lovely morning, I hope it would be like this all the time," I spinned around contently.

"I still have one suprise for you," Reg suddenly stated.

"You have?" I asked suprised.

"Close your eyes," he instructed smiling. I doubted for a second but then closed my eyes. I felt as he took my left wrist in his hands and covered it with something... a bracelet?

"Open your eyes," he gulped. I did and looked at the bracelet he had put on my wrist. It was a beautiful charm bracelet. I was speechless while I admired it.

"It's beautiful!" I cried out and hugged him tightly. I whispered; "thank you," over and over again while in his embrace.

The day after my birthday we started studying on the constellations once again. This time Reg had promised me he'd be more patient.

"This is the star Sirius, also called the Dog star. It's part of the Canis Major constellation," Reg explained. I nodded along as I tried my best to remember everything. But my mind drifted to other things.

"Has Sirius seemed different lately? I feel like he's been distant," I interrupted. Reg furrowed his brows and thought for a moment.

"He got into a fight with our mother few days ago, I'm sure it's just that," Reg murmured.

"But I feel like he's been like this all summer break!" I objected.

"Well... I'm sure he wasn't happy about coming back home - he doesn't get along with mother," Reg tried to reason.

"Well it's not like we were ecstatic about coming back either... and no one get's along with Walburga, she's strict with all of us," I argued.

"But more so with Sirius don't you think? It's just that - Sirius doesn't really respect the lineage or value our family's morals. He argues against them every chance he gets and Walburga despises him for it - so does Orion," Reg stated.

"I still feel like he is hiding something from us," I worried.

"Well then we'll wait until he is ready to tell us... it's getting late you should be getting ready for bed," Reg noted and started collecting his books.

I knew I wouldn't be getting any sleep whilst I worried about Sirius. I'd find out what he was hiding, sooner rather than later before my kidneys give out because of the insomnia.
