I feel numb.

I can feel my entire body shaking. I'm exhausted but I keep on moving. My arms, my legs, everything, I can tell it all aches but I don't feel any pain. The tingling sensations are present, but without the burning feeling that should be there as well. It's strange. It just feels... numb.

It's so dark out, I can barely see anything. Flashes of lightning and the boom of thunder are the only things that remind me I'm still living, and the only light source that helps me to see where I'm going. I hurriedly climb the ladder in front of me. I'm trying to run away from something, or someone, but I don't know who. I don't even know how I got here.

I start to feel the heavy drumming rhythm of my heart in my chest. My grip tightens on the rough wood, making sure that the combination of rain and wind doesn't knock me off. I refuse to look down and check how high up I am, because I know I won't be able to keep moving if I do. Successfully steadying myself on the wooden platform, I squint my eyes and try to find the next ladder, only to realize that there aren't any left. I'm standing on the very top of whatever building I've decided to climb.

Suddenly, a slightly stronger gust of wind knocks me onto my knees. I let out a yelp, but because the rain and thunder is so strong, I don't hear it. I focus on the wet wood below me, refusing to try and stand back up.

Somehow, within the roaring weather, my ears pick up the faint sound of footsteps against the wood. I place a hand on my forehead, protecting my eyes from the downpour above me and trying to focus my sights on the thing that's coming towards me. Against the dark night sky, is a shadowy human-shaped figure. It calmly walks towards me, the winds and rain not seeming to have any effect on it.

I feel myself gulp, looking up at the mysterious figure currently looming over me. It grabs my wrist, forcing me into a standing position until I'm face to face with it. A gasp escapes me once I stare into the two glowing points of light that I can only assume are its eyes.

Without warning, I feel two hands grab onto my shoulders and harshly shove me back. Once I realize my loss of balance, I reflexively reach out to it and grab onto its arms, dragging it with me as we both plummet downwards.

I let out a silent scream as I feel the weightlessness of my body falling, the wind rushing behind my back. As my instincts tell me I'm about to hit the ground, the last sight I'm greeted with is those two glowing red dots that stood out against the black night sky, before-

*RIIIIIING RIIIIIING RIIIIIIING*

The sounds of my alarm clock was all I heard for the past 2 minutes. Refusing to open my eyes, my hand reached out and swatted around the area next to me, trying to find the object in order to finally shut it up. As I felt the smooth, round surface of the tiny clock underneath my hand, I could hear a voice coming from the floor below me.

"Sera! It's breakfast time, wake the hell up and shower already!"

"Ughhhhhhhhhh."

I let out a low grumbling sound. Mornings were never really my favorite part of the day because my body refused to leave the comfort of my soft mattress. I tiredly rise up into a sitting position as my eyes forcefully open themselves to gaze at my surroundings. I always liked my room, it was simple and I liked simple. My bed stayed in the corner right next to a window that had its curtains closed so I could only see a small line of light run across from my bed. Looking to my side, I can see the desk that stood right next to me, my gold alarm clock situated near me and my laptop and lamp on the other side.

'Mornings suck... and I'm hungry'

I think to myself as my stomach makes a growling sound. I reach up to my eye to remove and flick away some gunk that was in the corner off of it. Then eventually move off my bed. I was about to head downstairs to grab breakfast, if it weren't for the fact that I suddenly had the urge to pee.
