"Hurry up, or I am leaving you behind!"
"Okay- I'm done! See?! Done! Will you quit being so impatient?! Jeez!" I flimsily stumble out through a few bushes before sending a death glare towards Reah who looks at me in just about the same way.
"Were you holding in 5 whole gallons of urine these past three days? It has been almost 15 minutes since I took you to go relieve yourself." She says with her arms crossed, leaning on a tree with an irritated expression on her face. I brush a few leaves off of my skirt and sigh.
"Well excuse you, but I've never had to pee in the woods before! I'm not used to it and it's still very confusing for me, so cut me some slack will ya?!" I had hoped and prayed I wouldn't have to pee in the woods. The sheer thought of how unhygienic it was made me cringe.
We've been traveling for three days now. Three days of walking, camping, and stress from simply being in each others presence. It was made perfectly clear from the start that we didn't like each other. I don't know why, but the moment they started being mean to Amice and I was the moment I didn't really care. Three whole days of silence, and if not silence then arguing, can really put a lot of pressure on a person.
Especially if that person had made the grave mistake of holding in their pee for the past few hours.
She lets out a huff, rolling her eyes at me before walking away without saying another word. My eye twitches and my fists get tighter every second as my anger lever rises. I angrily stomp my feet and thrash my hands around in silent frustration, letting out all my rage on the poor soil beneath me before taking in a deep breath to calm myself. I lift my hands upward as I breathe in, and push them down as I exhale. I nod to myself and start jogging in order to catch up to Reah before she abandons me again.
Thankfully I'm able to reach her, stopping in my tracks to walk by her side. She notices me and rolls her eyes, walking a bit faster this time.
"So, do you have any tips for peeing in the woods faster? You know, since you're the one with experience and all that." I say, keeping my gaze forward. I didn't want to talk to her, but the silence was driving me crazy. I hear a scoff come from my side.
"How about not taking 15 minutes to do so, is my suggestion."
"Woooooooow, great advice. You should really be a Guidance Counselor." I reply sarcastically, knowing full well she probably doesn't even know what a Guidance Counselor is.
"You were the one who asked."
"Yeah? Maybe I shouldn't have then."
And then follows more awkward silence.
After a whole eternity passes, we finally make it back to our temporary little camp. Amice sits by the fire alone, rhythmically tapping her heel on the ground. I walk up to her as Reah goes over to the tents to start dismantling it. Amice finally notices me sit by her and gives me a small smile.
"You sure took a while, didn't you? I assume with the amount of urine you released, you must have drowned some poor sapling to death. Hahaha-"
I smack her in the arm, but that only makes her laugh harder.
"Oh my God, don't. I've already gotten enough crap from Reah about it to last me a lifetime, so don't you start with me!"
"Oh-!" I see Amice's eye widen in realization. It takes me a while to think back to what I said before I realize it too. I quickly cover Amice's mouth before she can make a terrible joke about my bowel movements.
"Don't you dare!"
"MMMMMPH!" She uses all her strength to rip my hand off of her mouth before shoving me off the log we've been sitting on. "Ugh! Sera! Do not touch me with your urine infested hands!"
