You panted heavily, not breaking eye contact with the goat towering over you as you hunched over.
She sighed and shook her head. "You need to work on being able to doge. You're fast, but you're not fast enough. Your stamina is incredible, you'd be able to outrun any enemy." Toriel commented.
It had been a week since your attempted escape to the rest of the Underground. Toriel had healed both you and Frisk and instructed for you to spend the next couple of days resting. After those days, Toriel had told you that you were going to start your training. However, Frisk had been disappearing during the training sessions, which confused you.
You wanted to approach her, but didn't want to pry on her personal business. It could be related to her memory perhaps. Anyways, Toriel was going to help you increase your stamina, your speed and your ability to dodge. Frisk had already done her training, now it was your turn.
You nodded, standing upright. Frisk clapped her hands from the side, Flowey seated beside her. "Good job (Y/n)..! You're doing well!" Flowey cheered. You smiled at him.
"Shut up, weed. No interruptions." Toriel interrupted, glaring at Flowey. Flowey quickly gulped and hid behind Frisk.
"Let us try again." You nodded your head solemnly, preparing yourself. Toriel closed her eyes and took a deep breath, raising her hand.
Sparkling hot fireballs were released from the palms of her hands and aimed at you, quickly charging. You quickly crouched, palms pressed against the soil to doge a fireball that went over your head. You then jumped to the side to doge one that almost grazed the side of your arm.
Immediately you noted that Toriel had aimed another fireball at you. You smirked, this was getting easier. You moved to the side, avoiding the fireball. However, this time it followed after you, taking a sharp turn.
'Fuck... How am I supposed to get ' You thought, glaring at Toriel. However, she did not make any snarky comments or grin at your frustration. She stared at you with amusement. She was curious how you would handle this situation. You ran in the opposite, the fireball hot on your tail.
'Surely it will disappear after a while..'
You continued to run laps around the area, the fireball still chasing you. You frowned. So it wouldn't stop following its target until it hits. You pondered, how could you destroy the attack without injuring yourself or anyone around you?
Toriel's gaze never left you. She was intrigued by you. Something about you interested her. How you responded to her rude comments with something either intelligent or sarcastic. How you always added fuel to her flames. She continued to watch as you ran in a straight line, heading straight towards a wall.
Toriel stared at you with confusion. What were you doing? You already figured out that the attack will not stop until it gets its target. Were you trying to get yourself injured or killed? You reached the wall and slowly turned around to face the fireball. Now Toriel began to panic. Were you an idiot? You were going to die if you didn't move!
"(Y/n), move out of the way!" Frisk yelled, slightly freaked out. You looked at her confidently.
"Trust me, just watch." You said.
Frisk didn't respond, she nervously eyed Flowey who as well shared the same nerve-wracking expression.
The fireball was approaching, getting dangerously close. Toriel was about to intervene, but you managed to move to the side at the last second before the attack collided with the wall, sending parts of rock flying. Thankfully, it managed to miss everyone and no one was harmed.
