It was decided. You and Flowey discussed that you would follow Frisk and Toriel, without Toriel's knowledge of course, and to assist Frisk with the puzzles that the goat had designed. Flowey had warned you that Toriel had designed the puzzles to trick any fallen humans, and to lead them to a gruesome and treacherous death. You noted what Flowey had said, and swore to him that you would pay close attention to both of them.
Once you had finished discussing your plans, Flowey nodded solemnly, and his stem sunk into the Earth. You quickly yet quietly stood up, dusting off bits of dirt that stuck to your clothing, and tip-toed after the pair. You exited out of the dark room into the next. The room was full of light, however, similar to the previous room, there was barely any light shed.
The room was shaded a dark red, making it hard for you to see your surroundings. However, something that stood out to you was a sparkling, yellow light in the middle of the room. You tilted your head with curiosity, and slowly approached the yellow star. You stopped, a few inches away from the star, and closely observed it. It didn't look harmful, nor did it look dangerous. You slowly raised your hand and brushed it against the star.
Immediately, a silent noise erupted from the star, and a box had appeared in front of you.
(The shadow of the ruins looms above, filling you with determination.)
Name: Y/N L/N
Lv: 1 HP: 20
Save? Reset?
You stared at the box, confused at the words. You cautiously pressed the words 'Saved', and after you had, the box had disappeared. You rubbed your eyes, checking to make sure that it wasn't a dream. Unfortunately, once you had opened your eyes, you were met with the same dark room.
You shook your head, reminding yourself what you needed to do and stealthily walked into the next room. It was a rather bright room. There were stones on the floor, and a lever positioned beside a door, which you had noticed was opened. So Frisk and Toriel have already gone past here. You hopefully were close.
You were about to enter the next room before you heard a shrill and raspy voice from the next room. You stuck your head through the door, making sure that you were still hidden and weren't noticeable. To your relief, you immediately saw Frisk - looking rather pale and frightened but still unharmed - clutching Toriel's hand.
"Alright, my child. This puzzle requires you to pull a lever that lowers the spikes that are in the path. I've even labelled them for you. Don't be shy, I'll wait here."
You looked to the path, where sharp spikes sprouted out of the ground. You noticed patches of red painted the points, sending a shiver down your spine. You directed your attention to the levers. They were covered in both cob webs and rust, making high-pitched squeals every few minutes. Frisk looked back at Toriel, then cautiously walked up to the levers, and with all of their strength, pulled down on the metal bar.
The spikes that stuck out of the ground slowly lowered, creating a loud and terrible noise. You winced at the noise, clutching the sides of your head as an attempt to cover your ears.
"Very good, my child. Now, you shall do the same with the next." She comnended Frisk, dragging them over the small bridge to the next one. This time, there were two levers, both is similar to the first looks-wise. On the wall was an arrow pointing to the lever on the right, signalling that it was the right one.
"Now for this one, I've kindly labelled them for you. Go ahead and pull the one on the right." Toriel insisted, pushing her in the direction of the lever. Something seemed off to you. How she was so eager to pull the right lever. You looked at Toriel, her nervous smile faltering every few seconds, beads of sweat slowly trailing down her rough, messy fur. That's when you noticed the metal plate underneath the right lever, one that wasn't underneath the left one.
