I approach the area in the woods that Jasmin and I were meeting and she turns towards me. "Is that it," she asks, referring to the knife in my hand.

"Yeah," I whisper and hand it to her. She inspects it and nods softly.

"This is definitely the blade. I can feel the magic in it. It's hateful. When Luke used it, He was very angry and I can feel that in the blade," she whispers and then shakes her head. "I'll worry about the magical properties later. We have to be fast. I can hear the sound of werewolves approaching and if they see what we're trying to do, I am most certain they will kill me," she says and I nod.

"You got the barrier spell ready? Even if I want Fangs or Sweet Pea to be the ones to turn me, they won't let us do this," I say and she nods. She points out the circle of ash around us and I watch as she raises her hands and her eyes glow a bright gold for a minute and I watch as the barrier rises around us and then turns invisible. She takes a breath afterwards and then stares at me.

"Are you sure you want to do this? We have no guarantee turning you will work," she asks. "And if it does, you will surely be crossing a line and we could be starting a war," she says and I sigh.

"I need to see him. I need to apologize for everything that happened," I say and she places her hands on my shoulder.

"Okay. If that's what you truly want, I will do it, but it will mean that I will have to stab you with this knife, which should bring him to you immediately since it is the same murder weapon. It's enchanted so it will instantly kill you. I'll drop the barrier once the boys arrive and then they will bite and turn you. Once that happens, you will have to be restrained. The blood lust when you first turn is incredibly powerful and you won't be able to control yourself. Nobody can," she says and I nod.

I hear the sound of running. "They're close. We have to do this now," I say and she nods softly. She draws a circle in the air and it glows red, unlike any spell I've ever seen. When she's done, the ground under me has the same pattern and she stares at me for a moment.

"I'll see you soon," she says and then drives the knife into my chest.

...

My eyes snap open and I look around. I'm in the same spot as when she stabbed me, except there's no one here.

"Braeden," I hear a voice say and I turn. My eyes fill with tears as I see his face for the first time in what feels like eternity.

"Jordan," I whisper and I feel his arms wrap around me. I clutch him tightly and feel the tears fall fast. "Is it really you," I whisper and he chuckles.

"Yeah puppy. It's me," he whispers. We stand like that for a moment before parting. He sits on the grass and pats the spot next to him and I sit.

"I'm so sorry," I say and I can feel him staring at me.

"Why are you sorry," he asks and I stared baffled.

"I'm the reason this happened to you. I'm the reason you're dead," I say and he sighs and cups the side of my face.

"It's not your fault. You aren't the one who did it," he whispers and I lean into his touch.

"But if I'd just stuck to my purpose, if I'd just been with you and never gave Luke a chance, you'd be alive. I'm sure we'd be happy together," I say and he shakes his head with a sad smile.

"But it wouldn't have been real. You know that as much as I do," he whispers. "We could never love each other like that. I do love you, but not in the way you deserve. You are my best friend. Well I guess were," he says. "But I want you to be happy and in love with someone who can love you in a way that neither of us ever could," he whispers.

"But I wouldn't have lost you if we had," I say and he kisses my forehead softly.

"We can't guarantee that puppy," he says and uses his favorite nickname for me. "Luke was obsessed with you, long before he asked you out. Any Alpha that looked at you that way suffered a worse fate then me. He might have killed me even if you never acknowledged him," he whispered. "Don't blame yourself for what he's done. You did everything you could to appease him, but it was never going to be enough for him. Nothing was ever enough for him," he says and I let out a pained sigh.

"I'm not the good person you once knew either. I've killed people. I've hurt people. I'm losing the humanity I once had," I say and he smiles softly.

"You're still a good person. Yes, you've done bad things, but I still know that you have a good heart," Jordan says and I smile softly. He suddenly lets out a sigh.

"What's wrong," I ask and he smiles sadly.

"You're about to return to the living world, which is good, but that means I won't be able to see you for a long time," he says and I feel him wrap his arms around me again.

"How do you know," I ask and he chuckles.

"If you're dead long enough, you can see the living world," he says and I nod softly.

"What should I do Jordan? I don't know what I want anymore. Everything I thought would be my future has been destroyed," I say and he smiles softly.

"You know I can't tell you that. This is cheesy, but follow your heart. Deep down, I think you know exactly what you really want and who you really are," he says and stands and reaches his hand out and I take it. "After all, I know that you've already found somebody you really love." I don't understand what he means by that. There is no single person I think I truly love. At least, I don't feel like that right now. Maybe he means, I did really love... The world around me begins to blur and I stare at him, tears in my eyes.

We hug tightly again and I grab his shirt tightly. "I love you," I whisper and I feel him lightly kiss the top of my head.

"I love you too puppy," he whispers before letting go. "I'll see you again someday, but next time, it will be the right time," he says and smiles at me. "Now wake up. They need you right now," he says and I wipe my eyes and nod.

...

My body snaps into a sitting positon and I look around. "Holy shit," I whisper and bring my hand to my neck and I can feel blood spilling out. I drag my tongue across my teeth and I can feel the fangs. "I guess it worked," I whisper and I feel arms wrap around me.

"You scared the shit out of us," Fangs whispers.

"Sorry," I say and I smell something in the distance. "What smells so good," I ask and my mouth starts to water.

"Okay. We talked about this. We need to restrain you until someone can get you some blood without letting you kill anyone," Jasmin says and I nod absentmindedly.

"I could really go for some deer right now," I say and they all stare at me. "Raw deer meat is good okay," I say and Jasmin chuckles.

"We'll get you a deer then, but while I get that, the boys will be holding you down as a precaution in case somebody is cruising out here. We don't need you killing some random person," she says and stands.

"Isn't that what you guys do," I ask and they all look at each other.

"We tend to only kill murders or pedophiles and that's only when we don't have blood bags on hand," she says.

"Fine," I say and lay back down. I feel tears begin to fall as I think about everything that I talked about with Jordan. "It's not my fault," I say to myself.

"Huh," Sweet Pea asks.

"It's not my fault that Jordan's dead," I whisper and they both stare in confusion. "He's someone from before I died. He was my best friend and after I drank the wolfsbane and 'died' Luke killed him out of anger cause him and I fucked once," I say and they both stare in shock. "And now I don't know what to do with myself," I say and then smile. "But I think that's okay. I just need to trust that I'll do what's best for myself. Well that and I am absolutely going to kill Edgar. If he thought what I did before was bad, he has another thing coming."
