"You'll be going to UA, alright? You know it's the best hero school in Japan. You'll stay with my brother, and don't be too hard on him, alright? He just wanted to protect everyone. You'll get into the school through recommendation because of him, and I advise you to keep quiet about the recent events. They can't know you're you." My aunt spoke quickly as we pulled up to the entrance of the airport. I was leaving my home, leaving the small town in Southern California to live in Japan. All because I messed up.
I nodded to her, staying silent. She pulled into a parking place and then turned to me. "I'll always be a phone call away. I don't care if it's morning, nighttime, evening, or whatever. You need me, call."

I smiled softly, unbuckling my seatbelt and climbing out of the car. I pulled my suitcase and backpack out of the trunk and gave my aunt one last fake smile before turning towards the airport entrance. I took a deep breath. I was going back to my birthplace, and where my mother died. Where my father lives. Shaking my head, I stopped thinking about it and started moving faster towards it, not wanting to miss my flight.

I hurried through bag check and security, the nerves racking my body as I sat in the chair waiting for the call of boarding. My leg shook, and I pulled out my headphones and played music to calm myself.

As I heard them call my flight on the PA, I took one last deep breath, and moved towards the gate. It moved quickly, and soon I was sitting next to the window on the plane. I took one last look at the country I had been growing up since I was seven before I turned to my phone and played music once again.

Walking into the airport, I frowned as I had forgotten I needed to speak in Japanese from now on. "Shit."

I walked through the airport, passing through security, picking up my luggage and trying to find the exit. I sent a text to my aunt, telling her that I made it to Japan just fine. I sighed and pulled out a black mask from my backpack, putting it on, and not wanting to accidentally disable people's quirks, I pulled on a pair of black lace gloves. I walked outside, then frowned as I saw my father standing there, looking the same as he did ten years ago. I walked up to him, seeing the corners of his mouth turn upwards for a few seconds before they dropped back into the bored, tired expression he usually held.

"You know, you look exactly like your mother did 18 years ago." He said as I walked up to him. I stayed silent, not feeling like talking yet. He nodded, understanding my silence, then led us throughout the streets, finally stopping when we reached an apartment.

He opened it and I walked in, not bothering with saying anything as I took off my shoes and pulled a pair of slippers from my bag. I let him lead me to a room, where there was a bed with simple, grey bedding, white walls, and white furnature. There was a dark grey rug on the floor and a desk against the end of the bed. I put my backpack down in the chair and looked to my dad.

"You can start unpacking. I'll start on dinner. Then, I want to talk." Dad looked at me as if there was no getting out of it.

"Its been ten years, Akira." Dad persisted when I stayed silent.

"I go by Kira, and I know its been ten years." I said softly, speaking for the first time since last night.

Dad sighed. I understood his frustration. It had been ten years. Ten years since I left to the States to live with my aunt. Ten years since my mother died. Ten years since Villains have plagued my life day in and day out.

He nodded, then left, leaving me to my unpacking. I was slightly relieved when he left. I didn't feel like talking much yet.

I pushed my suitcase over slightly, letting it fall then catching it just before it hit the ground. I unzipped it and pulled the top away, frowning slightly as I saw a wrapped package with a note.
