We sat in the living room, both silent. I was watching her, not trusting her. She stared at the ground, not saying anything at first.

"They want to kill you." She spoke softly after a long time.

"I know." This knowledge I knew of the moment I left America.
"You don't get it, Kira. They want to kill you so badly, they want to have me do it. I told them I wouldn't. That even if you are on another path, one that leads away from me, I still consider you to be a friend. Even if you don't think the same any more.

"Lída, here's the thing. I want to still be friends. But I can't." I subconsciously started pulling at my sleeve, the one with the wrapped wounds.

"You said they can protect me, right?" Lída looked up to me.

"They can. They will probably interrogate you first... They will want to know everything about the League you can give them."

"And I'll tell them. But the League, they will change everything once they realize I'm gone. Where they hide, all their plans, everything." She looked at me, and I knew by looking in her eyes she did want out. Something happened that made her change. Maybe it was being ordered to kill me, maybe it wasn't.

"At least you'll tell them. Look, if you're gonna do this, there is no going back. And if you're not going to do this, then you have to leave before my dad gets home." I stared at her, making it known that it was important she make a decision.

She took a deep breath in and then looked at her hands, almost as if she could see something covering them.

"I'll do it." She looked up at me, voicing her decision.

"I need to call my dad, get him here so I can let him know what's going on." I stood, grabbing my phone. "Look, I don't trust you, but I am giving you the benefit of the doubt. We will have to work on the trust from here on out."

"I understand." She looked down, her face full of guilt. "I'm sorry for everything."

I nodded, not trusting my voice for a moment. I called dad's cell, telling him there was something important I needed at our apartment. Lída and I talked some while we waited for him to arrive. Soon I heard the key in the lock and I stood, bracing myself for whatever may happen. The door opened and dad walked in. I had forgotten about the bandages, but he seemed alright.

"Kira, who is this?" He hung his keys on the key rack by the door.

"Dad. This is Lída. She needs our help." I started, glancing at her.

"Help? What do you mean?" He came into the living room and looked between the two of us.

I motioned for him to sit down, then sat down next to Lída myself. "Lída is someone I knew when I was in the states. She... is involved with the group I was in. But she wants out. We have to help, dad."

He looked at me, slightly confused as I hadn't told him about being in the League.

I looked to Lída, then to dad. "I wasn't a part of a very good group back in the states. The guy I was with, he wasn't very good either. He got me involved in the League of Villains." I paused, noticing the breath dad took in. Lída was staring at the ground, silent. "That's how everything happened. I got involved with them and things went downhill from there."

"Kira... Can I say something?" I heard Lída say and I looked at her, nodding. "Sir. I made a mistake when I followed Jordan into the League. I met Jordan and Kira before we joined and I went along because they were the first real friends I had. I want to help fix my mistakes. And Kira, I know I wasn't as nice to you as I should have been after you left, but I want to make that up to you."

"Kira, a word?" Dad stood and walked into the kitchen. I followed, glancing at Lída as I left the room. "You were involved with villains while you were over there?"

"Dad, I got mixed with the wrong person. He wasn't like that at first, and then something changed and by the time I realized what was going on, I was in too deep. Look I made mistakes, but I got out, I'm on a better path now. And Lída wants out. She always wanted to be a hero before the League. I'm not asking you to trust her, because even I don't trust her yet, but I think we can help her."

"I'll talk to some people, see what I can do." He looked at me. "If you're wrong about her..."

"Then I will take responsibility. But if I remember anything about her, its that she has a strong determination." We walked back into the room, and I told Lída what we discussed. We came to an agreement and she would stay with me and dad until something changed.

I showed her to the room she would stay in and then let her get settled. Dad wouldn't let her keep her phone, but said he will give her a new one after school tomorrow. But, it would have to be closely monitored. I retired to my room, and worked on homework for a few hours. I was just about done when I heard the buzzing of my phone. I picked it up, taking a breath in and wondering if I should answer it. Deciding against it, I shut it off and let it go to voicemail. Three minutes later, the phone rang again. I glanced at it, seeing the same person and chose to ignore it again. The ding of a text came.

Explosion boi: I know you're awake. Answer

The phone rang again. This time I answered. "Yea?"

"Finally. Took you long enough." I smiled softly at his voice. Something in me wanted to listen to it forever.

Am I developing a crush on the hot headed blondie? Shit.

"You're the one who left the park without finding me." I shot back.

"You're the one that left the park in the first place. Don't fucking blame it on me."

"Has anyone told you you have a bad sailor's mouth?" I smiled. I liked this playful banter.

"You don't like it, well too fucking bad."

"Did I say I didn't like it?" He stayed silent for a minute.

"You'll be the first to actually like it." I could hear a smirk.

"Maybe if you weren't yelling DIE every time you meet someone, they might like you."

We ended up talking late into the night, and I had moved from my desk to my bed, laying on it using headphones instead of speaker so I could be more quiet about the conversation. We spoke about random things, neither of us mentioning what happened at the park. After what seemed like two hours, I glanced at the clock, seeing the green numbers of 4:26 AM glaring back at me.

"Hey Boom Boy."

"The fuck is that nickname?" He said. "What?"

"It's 4:30." I sat up, he seemed different when he was with me than when he was around others, and I liked this version of him.

"I know. Get sleep, we don't need you falling asleep in the middle of class." I gave a glare to my phone, forgetting he couldn't see me for a minute.

"Is that the reason? Or does the mighty, all powerful, hero in training Bakugo actually care about a friend?" I teased his softness that he had been showing me.

"Shut the fuck up, you damned extra."

"Night, Boom boi." I smiled softly.

"Yea." I heard some feedback from the other end of the line before it cut off.

I smiled. I liked talking like that. I pulled my blanket over my shoulder and shut my eyes, and for the first time since Alona passed. I was happy.
